Beres Hammond’s song "Not Over Until It’s Done" is about the value of life and how people often take life for granted. In the first verse, Beres reflects on how surprised he always is by the many surprises that life brings. He then goes on to explain a lesson he learned the previous night- that having life is a significant blessing in itself. He talks about how he always thought he was a good and responsible person, always carrying the burden for others. But, while discussing how hard life can be with some of his fellows in the square, he realized that he had been taking life for granted because of the privileges he enjoyed. One of the people they left in the square then spread his bed right there.
