Mac was a true fucking G. This was my favorite video he ever did. I played this over and over when it came out, memorized every word. The flow, the bars, the theme, the lighting, everything was perfect. This song represented a turning point in his career as he embraced his own style and stopped trying to please everyone else (casual fans/label/management). He embraced his style fully for the first time and every song he made after this was very different from his early work. I've been following him on Instagram for years, he really was doing drugs and living a rockstar life, but at the same time he spent time with his family and friends. Unique talent, he will be forever remembered as a legend in Pittsburgh.

I'm 31 but I rapped and toured the southeast in the late 2000s doing shows, was hooked on perks, roxys and tabs for 15 years, and chased everything unhealthy that so many of us are programmed to believe are levels of fame and success that needed to be reached. Im not comparing myself to this once in a generation soul or talent by any means, but our journeys were so similar at the same time. My child is the only thing that began to pull me out of it. THE song that got me hooked on mac. my friends always liked him since kids and would play his music when we were blazing in the woods when we first started smoking, and its not like i had a problem with it, just for some reason i didn't really care/pay attention to it... took me a few years to come around and since then mac has been my favorite artist of all time. rest in peace to one of the most beautiful and artistic people to have ever lived
