Interpretation:

The opening lines of the song are about a wonderful morning light that the singer seems to appreciate. However, he finds himself having to leave once again, suggesting that he is an adventurer, possibly travelling from place to place. He considers taking a ride to the desert folds or just relent. The desert folds may be referring to Death Valley, which is a well-known destination in Nevada, where the song's titular city, Vegas is located. The line "Or just relent," may indicate that the journey was becoming overwhelming, and the singer needed a break.

The following lines "As everything turns to rust, Amend. I'm hoping I'll see enough, By then," may suggest that the singer is trying to make amends for past mistakes or to change something that he can see breaking down around him. The word amend means to make changes or to rectify something wrong. He is hoping to see enough of whatever he's searching for by then.
