You are spot on here. We were so lucky to live in the best period of black music...which to me was the 1980'S AND THE 1990'S. I know people will counter that by saying the 1960's is up there as well. And it is... But what makes the 1980's and 1990's special for me is that we finally had drum synthesisers and bass synthesesiers, samples; and yet all the producers and the musicians where still hell bent on making the music as SOULFUL, JAZZY OR FUNKY AS POSSIBLE VIA USING THESE NEW INSTRUMENTS!

This is what House music is missing. The Soul, the Jazz, and nice crisp bassline, and some nice vocals to touch it off. 1990'S House had this vibe in abundance. Lets get back to it.

Yes because people were using hardware I think. Computers and sample pack culture means that not only do people not learn production skills - they just 'steal' loops - but they also sound exactly the same as everyone else. It's sad :(

If you are a House fan alot of people are missing this time. Would you believe it that Fans of Hip Hop Music also call the period between 1988 to 1996 - the Golden period. This was the best period in the music of Hip Hop as well as the DJ/Producers and then the Rappers all got it together perfectly. Its the same as with House & Garage music Dj/producers of the same time as well 1988 to 1996. Even this track was made in the 1990s and look at the great comments that have been attributed to this.

your absolutely right. But I dont believe that any music should repeat itself, that wouldnt be creative. Move on and let new music come forth, forget the tripe you hear on popular radio, search the underground, listen to fresh EP's. The 80s 90s era of house/dance/garage was amazing, and theirs enough out there already to listen to if we ever feel inclined. It certainly takes me back.

It's the formulaic approach to music that allows you to be creative and produce beats that sound so natural. It's very mathematical, even if you don't realise it, but to me it's even better than maths. Repetition in particular (which is abundant in house music) can be represented in the purest forms of algebraic maths. The best thing about music though is you don't write it down and try and struggle to explain it to someone, you just simply let them listen.

The first eleven artists are the very best because of the philosophy and cleverness beneath their music and Charles Webster is the objective king of Deep House thats unquestionable.

And we all had our favorites. Well some people didn't...they just danced to whatever. But I know I have many times walked off the floor because a dj was not a good mixer or didn't know how to create a good atmosphere. I happen to be one that loves beats and not a lot of vocals. Just a complimentary sample is enough for me. And some of the artists of the time just didn't do it for me. God, how I hated Tin City mixes!!! LOL....

If read my comments properly Datapunk you would have noticed that stated that I loved this track. But it is my opinion that I feel that the period that I mentioned earlier was greater then todays within the music of House and Garage. I am allowed an opinion, just like you have an opinion.

as a music lover, especially house and the good "old school hip-hop" because to me :) I conclude of course fully. have been since the endeckt above what's happening in the scene is a little dangerous for their policy was, of course, immediately sold everything and the so-called mainstream. vomit ..... but true connoisseurs and delicious this time, so the old producer as juan atkins ...... oh, how glad they are all like her style has always remained loyal and that's what counts .....

Techno was more of a Detroit thing. House started and I believe the word "hous" derived from the club in Chicago called the Warehouse in Chicago and new York had their hands early in house too then cannot forget later on the nersey house sound and etc...
Of course many derivatives if house and also overseas countries added their own to it too...if you YouTube, the History of House Music" is interesting documentary
