Aphex Twin Lyrics

Stop making that big face!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Aphex Twin's song IZ-US convey a sense of playfulness and irreverence. The line "Stop making that big face!" is repeated multiple times throughout the song, and it seems to be directed at an individual who is taking themselves too seriously. The lyricist seems to be poking fun at this person, perhaps trying to get them to relax and enjoy themselves.

Beyond this playful taunt, the lyrics to IZ-US are somewhat cryptic and difficult to interpret. They are filled with abstract imagery and references to things that are difficult to comprehend. However, this opacity is a hallmark of Aphex Twin's style, and it contributes to the sense of enigma and mystery that surrounds the song.

In general, the lyrics to IZ-US seem to be less concerned with communicating a specific meaning and more focused on creating a mood or feeling. The repeated use of the phrase "IZ-US" contributes to this sense of vagueness, as it is unclear what this word refers to or what it is supposed to mean. Overall, the lyrics to IZ-US can be seen as a playful and somewhat cryptic commentary on self-importance and the need to loosen up and enjoy life.

If anyone ever tries to tell you electronic music has no emotion, show them this masterpiece.

I WAS gonna comment but to reply to yours seems more apt....I don't know why this piece makes me want to cry in an uplifting way....I don't know whether I'm sad or happy.....THAT is emotive!

+Derek Thomas Whenever I'm unhappy I listen to this song as a means of catharsis. No other song has made me feel such strong emotions before, and that's mostly why I love it so much.

I hear that! A few of his tracks stir up various emotions with me...Alberto Balsalm, Gumpas, Flim..to name just a few. Saw an interview of his sayin he had well in excess of 150hrs of music. I always find myself thinkin what other little nuggets we'll never get to hear. Sad really

Ahh when my sister Nina was still alive, she'd sit on her bed, talking to herself with this playing almost everyday. When she passed away, on the way to the funeral the song was playing on the radio. I've never cried so much before. Now this is one of my favorite songs from the one and only Aphex Twin... RIP Nina <3
