Geddy Lee, Burke Shelley, David Surkamp all voices that are immediately recognisable. Their voices polarise many music lovers. I remember listening to this on the radio when it first came out and loved the music in the song. Wasn't so sure about the vocals, but the more I listened, the more I appreciated his voice. I love this song.

The first time I heard the intro of this song I was 23 years I felt bedazzled. So beautiful, so light, so perfect, so short. 22 years later my son started to play the piano when he was 15 years. Sadly, David Surkamp & Douglas Rayburn (both good friends form Seattle days together),
recorded a wonderful new album after Pavlov's Dog stopped.
The new band named "Mad Shadows" recorded the lp for Janus Records, but it never was released after record company troubles ensued.
Wonderful, amazing work now being held by Douglas's wife after he sadly passed away. She has yet to reach a release agreement with David Surkamp's new wife/manager.
Sad ending to an amazing follow-up to Pavlov's Dog, one of america's most unique bands.

Wonderful unique talents in both bands.
Julia, a classic work, was a big hit in Britain.

I was an exchange student from Chile un Michigan 1976 . In computer science class , a hippie looking guy had a music magazine in his hands with the month' s best album ranking . He scratched with a pen the one in first place and wrote :

Sometime in the mid '70s I was hangin' out at the Record Depot on Highland Ave. in Hollywood and one of the two owners said "You have to hear this album by Pavlov's Dog!". He played a few cuts and I bought a copy. There was definitely street buzz about this record in L.A. but after this particular album it seemed as if they sort of faded out. Perhaps the disco explosion dimmed their chances of radio exposure, don't know. Maybe "Julia" was the closest they got to a big hit single; it seemed that way at the time. And look at that ALBUM COVER! I still miss album covers! I know "streaming" is convenient and the current way most are listening to music now but it feels like the music has lost its distinction without more of a visual and tactile experience. It was fun to share the excitement of discovering a new artist or band or a new record that blew peoples' minds. I feel the same way about books. As to the complaints about the lead vocalist's voice that was exactly what made the band stand out.

I remember my brother playing this on his record player for me. The beginning was so beautiful then this weird voice came out. It grew on me. I love this song. Probably why I like listening to Rush.
