Once a listener has discovered an artist or band he/she really likes, they can help making their dream come true by contributing to finance their next album. When the artist raises $50.000 or $100.000* ( *depending on the amount the artist is trying to raise) SellaBand opens up their network of top-notch producers and studios. Together with SellaBand the artist will choose where and with whom they want to record and believers will be able to follow the recording period on close foot. Believers can follow the progress of their artist(s) on their profile page, as well as spread the word about their artist to their friends through various HTML SellaBand widgets and other promo tools to get the name of the artist out there.
After the album has been recorded, Believers of the Artist will receive a special limited edition CD delivered on his/her doorstep, as well as a free digital download. The music will be distributed globally through SellaBand’s wide range of distribution partners including Amazon and iTunes. The music sales revenues are split 50/50 between the Artists and their Believers over a 5 year period.

In "Carousel," Julia Marcell sings about a person who has captured her heart but is emotionally unavailable. The first two lines, "You are the perfect box to keep my heart in / Try to hide your smile when carousel goes..." suggest that this person is a perfect container for her heart, but they aren't willing to reciprocate her feelings. She notices their hidden smile when the "carousel," or the ups and downs of their relationship, turns.
The next two lines, "I look into your eyes but you don't see me / So many notes like light years between us," reveal the distance between them. The singer can't seem to bridge the gap between them, and there are too many differences that keep them apart. Despite these obstacles, the singer declares that they will wait and stay, not specifically for this person or today, but for what the future may hold.
The chorus is where she admits to being smitten: "The stars agree - you're meant for me / The cards all say you're on my way." She believes that the universe is aligning for them to be together. Julia then boldly admits that she will throw common sense out the window and take her chance with this person, regardless of the consequences. The second part of the chorus asks a question – does this person know themselves? Can they ever be fully understood? She then links that question to her heart, and here come the lines, "You are the perfect box to keep my heart in / So far away but still there," suggesting that despite his lack of emotion, he is a necessary part of her life.

Listened to this when it first came out so many years ago. Today the first line spring into my head randomly and I had to google and find the song...here I am. I forgot how beautiful it was. Listening to it takes me back to that time when life felt so open and possible, when as a young adult my identity was growing and I was forging my way in the world.
I miss those days.

Back again to to give a listen and keep my younger self alive in my heart & mind. I remember playing the song after falling for a very charming guy in my early 20’s. We dated for a time and it felt amazing. It didn’t last but we shared some pleasant moments and parted on good terms. I remember taking winter night walks alongside the canal with him. An experience I am grateful for.
