It was early 2010s, I had just graduated from high school. Life was carefree. This song used to play on FIFA then - I remember listening to it while playing in the practice arena within the game.
The arena had a beautiful open-sky setting, and I loved playing in it - it felt like home to me, having spent many hours into the game.
I had never been to the UK until then, but I imagined how exciting it would be to live there, knowing how beautiful some places are over there, and I'd be closer to actual football and its fans.
Now grown up, in 2019, I found myself attending a United vs Liverpool match in the UK while I was in Europe for an exchange semester for my Masters degree.
Went out to a club at night in London with buds - the scene was lit. Everyone was drunk - later in the closing hours of the night, this song came up; it seemed as if almost everyone knew this song and they all started singing along. I sang along with them too - bonding with my buds AND some random strangers over this piece of music.
Once we left the club later, very drunk but ecstatic, I felt like a kid again. Roaming around London streets at night, I revisited that feeling I had while playing FIFA years ago, imagining how cool it would be to do so.
Years later, I had manifested that feeling - loved every minute cause it made me feel so alive, so alive.
