Careful
Michelle Featherstone Lyrics

They pulled me in
And I'm defenseless
I try to ignore
Like I've done before
But it's just useless
I've made up my mind
That I'm gonna let you in
And I'm not afraid
But I have to say
This is gonna hurt if it ever ends
But somehow you out shattered my defense
This is gonna hurt if it ever starts
So promise you'll be careful with my heart
It's the things you do
They made me fall hard for you and I can't help it
And it's every day that I feel this way
So just don't stop it
I've made up my mind that I'm gonna let you in
And I'm not afraid but I have to say
This is gonna hurt if it ever ends
But somehow you out shattered my defense
This is gonna hurt if it ever starts
So promise you'll be careful with my heart
I won't make excuses
They just all seem useless
You don't have the time
I guess I'll take my chances now that I know love is on the line
This is gonna hurt if it ever ends
But somehow you out shattered my defense
This is gonna hurt if it ever starts
So promise you'll be careful with my heart
Careful with my heart
Careful with my heart
The song "Careful" by Michelle Featherstone is a powerful ballad that speaks to the experience of falling in love after having been hurt before. The song opens with the singer acknowledging that it is the little things about her new love that have drawn her in, even though she wants to resist. She has made up her mind to let him in, but she is scared of what will happen if the relationship ends. She pleads with him to be careful with her heart, knowing that she is vulnerable but unable to resist the pull of her feelings.
The chorus of the song repeats the theme of vulnerability, with the singer admitting that she knows the relationship will hurt if it ends, but unable to stop herself from falling. She recognizes that her defenses have been shattered, and she must rely on her partner to be careful with her heart.
The final verse of the song speaks to the singer's determination to take her chances in love in spite of the risks. She is willing to put herself out there even though she knows it could end in pain. The song ends with a repetition of the plea to be careful with her heart, underscoring the fragility of the singer's emotions.
Overall, "Careful" is a powerful and emotional song that speaks to the experience of vulnerability in love.

You can't deny the music used in himym is unmatched for a sitcom
@mirekchytil903
As it is "a bit" different from other sitcoms itself (in such way), so it is apropriate.... And great choice of music for the scene :)
@v13w5
YES! One of the things that make HIMYM so special.
@adirizkiguritno3497
For a sitcom, maybe. For a show in general, there's New Amsterdam, and the show itself is probably one of the most, if not the most, underrated medical dramas.
@akish1625
Try Scrubs my friend. I have found many a song that are now part of my playlist because of that sitcom.
@CharlPantaleon
You should try Gossip Girl. Similar with HIMYM, they feature a lot of alternative artists. Both shows gave me plenty of music to add to my playlist, but a little more from Gossip Girl. They've lasted 12+ years in my playlist, too, since I first started watching both.

Stella, what you and tony have, what I thought for a second you and I had, what I know Marshall and Lily have, is what I wish to have someday!
