Yeah I loved her in scrubs and Roseanne and other stuff I’ve seen her in but Stella just never gave me good vibes. It goes to show the amazing actress that she is though becuase that’s pure character portrayal. I don’t know her much as a person, as an actress. But the characters I know I love. Besides this one. And it isn’t even that I hate this character. It’s easy to be hated. It’s harder to leave someone in that middle spot where they don’t love or hate you. Nothing is being forced. She’s able to remain likable just enough and for as lengthy as necessary, because then you just hate her after she leaves Ted at the altar. And that’s all that was needed and necessary. It’s more difficult than people realize to bring about this kind of character on paper to life. And to do so well.
But again, she’s an amazing actress and this was proof to me that she’s a pure talent. I guarantee she would be an amazing actress if she ever did get something more serious. She’s great in sitcoms but she would make for a great dramatic actress.

Anyway, as much as I resented her for hurting Ted so much — her being the amazing actress she is I was still able to connect and “feel” that moment in the car when she was trying to reassure Ted that he will be fine and that his One is around the corner. To hang in there. There was something deeply conflicting within me, pure sadness and heartbreak for Ted and sympathizing with him wrestling with some mixed emotions and seeing the goodness in Stella for a moment in her also sympathizing with him and being apologetic that she could not be what he needed because she had that for someone else — her man. And that’s what they wanted. They were trying to achieve this deep rawness alongside some positivity and comfort in moving onward and closing this chapter. It isn’t easy to portray who Stella is without straight hating her.
A good actress, a great song, a classic scene and moment in the series that reinforces how multi-talented this series was at implementing some drama and emotion and deep storytelling while still remaining funny. This single-handedly is what puts it above Friends in terms of quality.

Thanks for the kind words. Just be yourself and go for it. If she ends up not feeling the same way; you know. But really be yourself... That's the most important part. If she does not like who you are or how you go about life a serious commitment would never work. But ofcourse now I am talking like you are in your twenties... :P So just have fun and try to go for it. If it fails you learn. I have failed a lot of times. I was crazy for a girl A LOT of times. But I got friendzoned harder then I would like to admit. That is life I suppose... You learn from it. Bit by bit, year after year I developed myself and naturally my taste for woman started to take form. Then I found a girl who I thought that she would be the one. But she turned out to be a wolf in a sheep costume.. If I would have known what for a person it was I would not have wasted 3,5 years for that woman... But then again... I would not have met my current GF through all these actions and consequences.. I maybe would have ended up with someone else? But that's life.. You never know what is around the corner. When I looked and tried so hard to not be alone.. I was more lonely then ever. But that moment I let go. Things started to get better.. :) and I know for sure that it would be the same for you and for everyone around here. But like a lot of things in life these things don't always come by itself. A little bit of having your own life in your own hands, patience, maybe luck, ... and things will get better. :) I wish you a lot of luck and one advice like I said before: Just take the leap...

I listened to this song the day after we met up properly for the first time, exactly two years ago we began talking and after just a few months, we became something beautiful. +Sally Langan I'm so sorry for you. I've been there too, to a very sad place but it definitely got better for me! I know it doesn't feel like it now. But there's a scene in How I Met Your Mother's season 7 that I love where Ted finally gets over someone. When he walks out of the door, he sees yellow umbrellas everyone because now that he's over her, there's so many more possible ways his life could go. I felt that way too after years and now I'm so happy with my life. If someone had shown me several years ago how my life would have turned out, I would have been overwhelmed with joy!

I sometimes miss the times I was unhappy too, you tend to do that :) I also wish I'd taken more opportunities to do things then even if it was hard because you do only have one chance to live. Try doing something nice for someone! A good way to make your own world a little brighter is to make the whole world a little brighter in general by making someone else happy!
