Having said that, sometimes caring too much about being a "good" person is what makes us anxious. That leads to awkward meetings bc we fear offending others.

i suggest you dont give up on those invitations! make your mind to invite the ones who cancelled last minute again, sometimes its not personal, maybe something really came up last minute and they couldnt hang out.

you could also hang out with siblings or cousins your age if you have them and you get along with them,
if you dont tho, just ask * yourself * out :] i know its not the interactions youre seeking for, but sometimes its more than enough to just go outside, enter a store, smile to the shopkeeper, say good morning to someone waiting for their turn in a line, or just being around strangers, those small actions already make you feel more connected to other people

dont fear rejection pal :] its gonna happen a million times, you're not alone on this! it happens to you, to me, and to everyone else out there. The trick is in how you face it: i know feeling rejected sucks, but distract yourself from the feeling, focus on the nice things that * do * happen to you, like eating dessert or watching that show that you like. When you feel better again, keep trying, someday the invitations will work :]

if you feel they wont, theres always other people to talk to, i mean i know im a stranger but look! someone is interacting with you right now, i hope that makes you realize youre less alone that you think, youre not invisible :]

A little late but here i go:

So i had this problem back in school too.
My "friends" were nice and all.
I talked a lot with them but it never felt right.
Sometimes i didnt say what i meant other times i just couldnt speak up.
The thing is (and thats the hard part) theyre not real friends.
Trust me if they hurt you (in anyway) or you dont feel comfortable around them -> get fucking rid of them.
Real friendship is so different from that i still cant believe it.
I dont have to think what im saying. It just clicks and i just feel happy now.

Youve to try again and again and thats the hardest part of the problem.
Every relationship is like that.
Youve to sort out the troublemakers/idiots/etc. and to do that youve to just try (again and again...).

Its not going to be easy but hang in there and believe in yourself.
Your future self will thank you.
Youll think back and it will be crazy how it changed.

Hope this somehow helps.
Feeling lonely is probably one of the worst things out there but its cureable.

Meeting new people makes you vulnerable and consumes a lot of time/energy but in
the end its the only way.

While i was watching this video I clicked on as a joke (haha im lonely) i started crying, as soon as he said "its a normal feeling" after detailing my whole experience. I felt every single word and i don't think you know how happy that made me felt. The realization it gave me knowing that loneliness was something that everybody goes through and Im not the only one who is going through hard times. speaking from someone who was always closed about his feelings just because I was too stubborn on my pride, this really made me open up more.

This video is really good but makes a lot of assumptions about lonely people “declining” invitations or “defending” ourselves so as to not get hurt, when some of us are the ones who desperately invite others to us and are faced with constant rejection. Some of us have sped so far ahead of our friends and they begin to judge us and see us differently for it. Whether it’s school, or work, or status, most “friends’ are only friends with you while you are their equal. It’s a shame that us as Humans are so flawed because I would love to be social with like minded individuals but it’s so hard when I’m not a drinker, party goer, or interested in the latest tiktok trends.

I feel the same too. I never get invitations, except for maybe general mass invitations sent out by a church or whatever that isn't directed at me. I don't think I've ever received any invitation for more than 10 years from anyone, and I feel as though people actually want to forget that I even exist. When I do reach out they are too busy, they actively reject my invitations with excuses or reasons. In fact recently I reached out to the church pastor just wanting to connect, and he made the time very short (barely enough time for me to even register the interaction at all), and basically made it feel as though he has more important people that he like to focus his energy on, and that I need to do more to somehow justify that level of time investment.

You are just there; you’re not important in anyones life and they don’t seem to care about you at all. Nobody checks up on you to see how you are doing or if you want to hang out. Even when you reach out to them first, there is always an excuse of why they can’t go. Even when you thought you made a new friend—one who treats you like an existing person—they start to ignore you and act like you never existed. You eventually start to resort to books, movies, and music to escape from your reality and into a fantasy. You know you would be such a good friend if people just gave you a chance. This video described my life with absolute accuracy. This is what my life has deceased to. I never realised that loneliness has affected my behaviour so much recently. It's a dreadful feeling. Even if I feel blessed to have a soulmate - my significant other yet , yet i end up feeling lonely. Whenever he's busy, I realise, I have no one and nothing else in my life left. After finishing school and moving to another country, I realized how lonely I was and is. I only interacted with people within my class. This can be called "forced cooperation" and because of this, I didn't feel lonely, because, despite the fact that sometimes I had a conflict with some classmates, we still got along, laughed and helped each other during the tests. My sister and mother know me well my character and how loud and talkative I become with loved ones. Thanks to my sister, I do not feel completely alone, but only when she is not next to me. Sorry for the long comment. You know that lonely people have no one to tell about their anxieties and experiences. Maybe I really need to see a psychologist, because I have noticed more than once when with a person whom I have known for only 1 hour, I begin to talk about my life. It's very strange and I understand it.

Damn. This was one of the most surreal experiences of my life, the man just narrated everything I've been going through and everything that I've thought and felt in the past 3 years. In the past 3 years to cope with loneliness I developed a lot of bad habits and addictions including pornography and vaping. I never mental health was a big deal and made no effort to try and find out why I was feeling the way I did. Every single question he presented towards the end of the video my answer is yes to all of those. Ignoring friends, family and every single human being, deleting my social media accounts and trying to embrace some "lone wolf" mentality completely destroyed my metal health. *1 - in hs in florida we had a nice outdoors campus (art school). during lunch, I saw an obviously (facial/body expression) lonely boy sitting against a pillar looking down at the grass. I said "Hey man what's up? you new? want to go for a walk?" and he did. we had fun that one time. we never hung out with each other after that day, but he had made friends and always smiled and said hello to me in the halls. (I was art, he was music - no shared classes)
*2 - another time in hs, after school by the bus loading area, there was a nervous looking, very quiet kid with glasses. I thought the other time was good.. I made someone happy and I felt good. so I stood right in front of him, waved and said "hello!" and he just stared at me. I repeated my word... and he blinked. I felt so sad. like I was bothering him. I said sorry and slunk away. I never fucking did that again. it was stupid of ME. in hindsight, i shouldn't have ever let myself feel shame for reaching out.
* years later, I saw the boy from story 1. he was so happy to see me, and told me and the friends he was with, that I'd never know how much I changed his hs experience just from that one day. he made a lot of friends. I wish I could have been his friend, but it didn't happen - we were really different and lived far from each other.
what I'm trying to say, is we'll never be able to reach someone who isn't ready or willing to be reached. but this reaching out and trying again is a real thing that can have such an impact...
well I lied. I did reach out again. i met my last significant other inside of an abandoned building.. and I saw him a few weeks later walking in the streets where I lived. Loneliness has helped me a lot personally. It has taught me how to entertain myself better, which has lead to more interests in things such as learning or meditation. I think it is okay to like being alone. I personally do enjoy my alone time. I get overwhelmed being around people often times and feel drained by social interaction. I am not antisocial by any means though, just more reclusive and introverted. I prefer quality over quantity in all things, especially company. And I try to be grateful for every day, whether it has been a challenging day full of suffering, or an easy day full of pleasure. I like contrast in experience because I feel it necessary to better understand ourselves as individuals, and to better understand our own truths, whatever they may be. I like your videos. I have to pretend in order to keep my social bonds but, really, if 90% of people I know disappeared, I wouldn't miss them. And it's not because they're bad, in fact most are very awesome people. @@GabrielFerCav Maybe you just dont feel like you actually relate to any of them on a deeper level or you dont really care about the things that you do with them. your friends arent catering to your emotional needs in the way you desire or doing the kind of activities that bring you joy, fullfillment, or actually have real value to you. im kind of having a bit of that issue too.
It's not that my friends arent great people and I do genuiney care about their well being, but if im honest with myself for alot of them if our friendship was to end or we stopped talking it wouldnt really bother me.

Now that you know you feel lonely you can start trying to fix it. Try a teamsport or call someone else to ask how've they been. Will be a painfull journey due to the fear of rejection as described in the vid. But remember that by showing interest in someone else is a good deed worth doing even if you don't get anything back.

I apologize to her and she won't even talk to me anymore, and my old friend keeps skipping class. I have no friends at all right now. I don't know what have my life turn into. I keep abandon my online friends (which I also feel very guilty about) to the point where I abandon my friends that I can talk always to. I just thought I wasn't good enough so I push people away, but I regret it for hurting their feelings. Although they may have forgotten about me now. I don't want friends or lover. From my experience, this seems to work. I had friends before 2020 but none of them were very close, and even tho I barely have any friends now, I feel less lonely than before because I’m better at occupying myself. Not having friends but keeping myself happy is probably not a permanent solution but it’s definitely a good first step toward not being lonely, I guess it’s like fully figuring myself out before rejoining society and trying to make friends again

Marceline Morales okay, so as the video itself recommends, I’m trying to lift somebody’s mood up although it’s not what I would normally do. But I can tell you that feeling left behind the group is a very familiar feeling. In fact, now that I think about it it’s been a long time since I actually cared about it because it happened so many times that it kinda became a normality for me to feel left out. Or maybe I just got used to it or I’m not trying anymore or whatever the video says. Anyways, in my case, I know that people would have accepted me if I tried a bit harder therefore I think you can choose not to be alone and maybe if you give yourself a chance( or multiple chances) you can get yourself out of that isolation bubble. And also you’re probably cool and funny and if you haven’t found the right people around you yet then just keep being yourself.

We all say things at the wrong time when we're nervous and feel out of place, so just take some breaths, and reassess where you are. I was the "lone wolf" in middle school, and a bit through high school as well. I've done TONS of really awkward things, and my heart races when just being spoken to. If people are speaking to you, listen, and I mean REALLY listen. Ask good questions, and be polite! Be calm, and when people talk to you, respond. Boys or girls, in the end, they're only your peers!

A year later since I first watched this video, it's still the same story. It's hard to connect with people who won't consider you, like you wanna be heard, be included, be remembered but you know, you're the last person in line (last choice). And the hardest part is when you try to connect or include yourself, they make you feel like you're forcing your way in but you got self esteem, you don't wanna make it seem like you're begging for something or demand validation.

If the humanity will see that doing fine without much interaction and staying individualistic, then we will become more individualistic. If we'll see that it is an irrelevant way, we won't. Right now I think we'll stay the way we are now, social creatures. Even now there are a lot of cultures and societies which encourage collectivism. The western society is a different beast, we're pretty individualistic, but then again, we really we the rising loneliness problem

Try to have a look around: in almost every big city there are "centers" talking about some topics in particular, Facebook and other networks have pages / channels focused on some topic, Telegram too has channels like that (for example, there's a Telegram's channel called Link4Universe, same name of a Youtube channel, talking about Cosmo and Astrophysics).
Nowadays, "Internet" turned tons of people into zombies who throw there their mind as trash (for a huge amount of reasons like culture, mental habit, force of will, laziness, etc), but it's not like there everywhere! This Youtube channel is an example, where contents are high-quality ones :D

@@user-dg9eb4mc9t thank you brother, actually there are even more birds, I'm made myself a little bit lonely by smoking too much weed, after a while I got disconnected with my friends, and the only thing I wanted was just to smoke on my own all day. but I'm fighting now to make everything fine again, it is really hard for me right now, but I feel better each day.

Can confirm it by personal experience. For me, therapy was no easy path, but it saved my life and made me grow immensely. Glad I found the courage to start and keep at it despite the difficult moments. There's light and life waiting for those who venture. The most difficult and most important part is doing the first step! It just means making a phone call or sending an e-mail, but we'll be glad we took that small, first step.

Chances are that you don’t talk to those friends a huge amount, what you should do is just hit them up every few days or so, send them something funny you’ve seen on Instagram, don’t go overboard to the point where it’s annoying but just have conversations with them. You’ll get closer and eventually get invites

Wow, already four years ago! I remember this watching for the first time and being able to relate to a lot being said in the video. It helped me a lot and although I do still feel lonely from time to time, I can proudly say that I am doing much better now! I hope all the lonely people in the world have someone to give them a hug, and if not here a virtual hug for all of you 🫂. Remember you are worth it <3.

Very true. I work in the construction industry. God help you if you admit loneliness or any psychological or emotional problems. You'd become the target of merciless ridicule. I work in an office. A homeless person took cigarette butts from the Smoker's Station ashtray . Our company offers counselling by a professional company for those who need it. My coworker pinned a copy of the offer of counselling to the ashtray.

"Why did you do that?" I asked.
"Because it's for losers" he replied.

It gave awareness to me. I’m in denial that I’m in a terrible position, probably because I saw it as a sign of vulnerability and weakness if I admit it, but this made me understand that loneliness is normal, not something to be ashame of.

Really the YouTube trending tab just nominates videos that the algorithm thinks is good rather then what people watch, but I do agree that in this day and more people are feeling more lonely than ever
