Lo Mio Es Nuestro
Sin Animo De Lucro Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Y yo me voy a pegar
No quiero perderme cuentos
Que solo se ven aca
Pa′ servir una copita
No se puede derramar
Como dice mi abuelita
Es pecado derrochar
Un trago pa' el camino
Por si me da frio para calentar...
Mi casa se derrumba
Y yo ando de rumba
Sin poder parar
Coro
Toda mi tierra quiero caminar
Y mi pais poner a bailar
Por sus rios corre un carnaval
Con aguardiente vamos a brindar
En cada tienda quiero destapar
Esa alegria que hace vibrar
La fiesta que llevo por dentro
Que dice "lo mio es nuestro"
Dale viejo camiii
Cuando hacemos una vaca
No falta el que esta pelao
Y el vivo que menos pone siempre
Sale muñequiao!
Y si quiero una modelo
Solo tengo que brindar
Pues el trago hace la magia que
Yo no puedo alcanzar
Con tantos carnavales
Y cuantos festivos
Quien descansar
Coro
Toda mi tierra quiero caminar
Y pais poner a bailar
The lyrics of Sin Animo De Lucro's song Lo Mio Es Nuestro depict the singer's love for his country and its festive spirit. He describes his excitement for the party atmosphere, wanting to be a part of the celebrations and not miss out on any of the fun. The singer's grandmother's wise words, "Es pecado derrochar" (It is a sin to waste) remind him to be careful not to spill his drink as he enjoys the festivities. He takes a drink for the road to keep himself warm and to ward off the cold, even though his home is falling apart. Despite experiencing hard times, he continues to party and cannot stop.
In the second verse, the singer talks about the custom of everyone contributing to a collective fund (haciendo una vaca) to buy drinks with some people contributing more than others. He admits that he can attract a woman's attention with expensive drinks he would not otherwise be able to afford. He believes in taking advantage of the numerous holidays and carnivals in his country, as the saying goes: "La vida es muy corta pa' no aprovechar" (Life is too short not to take advantage). He concludes by stating that "lo mio es nuestro" (what's mine is ours), indicating his desire to share his love for his country with others.
