Beautiful film from a great book, the acting, musical score and everything was just beautiful. Its in my top films this as everything is so dark and only glimmers of hope happen in the movie but I cried numerous times watching it as to not only struggle to survive to but its a struggle on the soul for them as they encounter some evil people but also some good. It's the best end of the world film I have ever seen and really shows what it would be like and how hatred can destroy everything.

I did not cry at the movie. 2 days after reading and watching, this beautiful haunting music transported me to that world and broke my heart. Sometimes it takes time to process something so profound. I literally howled for a solid 15 mins after watching the movie. From feeling like a real achievement, a great job with the relative luxuries and a lovely wife, a beautiful and so clever child, nice cars and a house, with good friends.
I was blindsided, floored, gutted. This lead to a bad draw out separation, thoughts of suicide, and unknown debts left for me to pay. With a young child to raise, my only (then alive) parent being taken into care for dementia and rapidly deteriorating.
I didn’t realise how fragile I was at that time.
Take care out there and don’t take things for granted, life can throw real curveballs sometimes. ❤️
