@@jade7602 Yeah, an RTS from 1999.
Basically, a civilisation on a desert world find a crashed starship, and a guidestone to another world, proving that they once came from elsewhere in the universe. They all united to reverse engineer the technologies in the ship, and build a massive mothership to transport 600K colonists in cryo to their originator world. You first hear the game's version of Adagio for Strings upon seeing the great mothership in its scaffold, ready to deploy and undergo final testing.
They perform a hyperdrive test, and it is successful... but find the support ship sent 10 years prior to the edge of the system to wait for them has been destroyed by unknown hostiles.
They deal with the threat... but return to their desert world they called home burning, its atmosphere ignited into an all-consuming firestorm. Everything is destroyed. All that's left, are the cryo trays, under attack from lingering ships. They capture one of the enemy vessels, interrogate the crew and retrieve the remaining cryo trays. This is when you hear the version of Adagio for Strings again, witnessing the destruction of the planet and the last hope its people.
Then they leave on a journey through a vast, hostile galaxy that seems to be full of adversaries for them, for reasons they cannot rightly fathom, the destruction of their home brought about because they broke a 4000-year-old treaty. And they'd not known about other life at all until then.
All they have left, is to find the Homeworld.
