Wonder 2
My Bloody Valentine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm moving your eyes slow for you see, see all the way
And I found you something to hold you alive
Somewhere you stand on worry too unfortunate
Will you sing on to come to use on

I'm moving your eyes slow for you see, see all the way
And I found you something to hold you alive into the head on
Remember you used to, you were always late to see tomorrow
Everyone knows that you're such too soon

Overall Meaning

In My Bloody Valentine's song Wonder 2, the lyrics speak to the power of perception and the value of moving slowly and attentively through life. The opening lines, "I'm moving your eyes slow for you see, see all the way," suggest a willingness to guide and assist someone in seeing the world more completely. The notion of finding "something to hold you alive" speaks to the need for support and connection in life, and the recognition that we all require something to keep us going. The lines "Somewhere you stand on worry too unfortunate/Will you sing on to come to use on" imply that the person being addressed is perhaps consumed by negative thoughts or experiences, but that music or song may provide a pathway to move through these challenges.

The repetition of the opening lines in the second verse reinforces the importance of slowing down and taking time to see clearly, while the line "into the head on" suggests that this deeper insight may also require some mental focus and effort. The final lines of the song, "Remember you used to, you were always late to see tomorrow/Everyone knows that you're such too soon," are somewhat enigmatic, but suggest that the person being addressed may have a history of being a bit behind the curve, but is now perhaps moving too quickly through life.

Overall, the lyrics to Wonder 2 encourage us to be present and mindful in our lives, to seek connection and support, and to recognize that sometimes the most valuable insights come from intentionally slowing down and paying attention.

For me this album is divided into 3 parts. Tracks 1-3 are an unrelenting blissful and driving haze, tracks 4-6 lets you rest in a pretty but murky limbo, tracks 7-9 obliterate reality

Tx for this description

My favorite My Bloody Valentine track, period. It's drum and bass, jungle and shoegaze histrionically mashed together with a shredding blender to give us this masterpiece of a song.

@samlawrence1319

I can hear the drum and bass rhythm for the first time now, thanks( was obviously still caught in the melancholy bliss )

This totally feels like something from their mid/late 90s sessions. Jungle was the big thing to come out of the UK rave scene at that time, being fused with psychedelic rock really puts you in a trance

@NinetiesYouth

are most of the tracks on the album from the mid 90s?

@maxway7465

@EndofMusic afaik it’s a mix of recordings from 95-97, the mid 2000s, and early 10s. Wonder 2 is def a 90s era track. Very much in line with the ragga/break chopping style of the time

I spent a fortune to travel and see MBV live this year, they are my favorite band. This song at the concert was so loud... People were walking out and left and right from me. I think I saw about five people walk out at this song, they played it towards the end of their set. I decided to go no ear plugs whole concert... I wouldn't recommend it in the long term but after the concert I was okay. (I think?) Ubered back to my hotel, put some my bloody valentine on my portable speaker and kept drinking and listening and I could still hear to the best of me abilities. One of the best nights of my life seeing them. I really hope I will see them again soon, it'd be so cool if they toured again in 2019 for their new material that's supposed to be coming out soon.

Sigh, still no new material in November 2021. The latest gossip floating around rn is that Domino gave Kevin a deadline of December 2021 to finish the first of the supposed two new albums MBV are working on, in order to secure their place at the vinyl pressing plant. So best case scenario is that the album is released and the band start touring again next year, 2022. Knowing this band's history with deadlines though, I highly doubt that. Still, I'm pumped to hear the finished versions of New Song 1 and New Song 2

@gavfitzpatrick

I saw them in a small venue in Dublin when I was a teenager and I swear to God I was deaf for 3 days later. It's the part in the middle of "you make me realize" that does the damage. Anyways the only other live band that was nearly as loud were Motorhead
