Frozen Ashes
Suburban Tribe Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
nothing more for me to say
inside I feel things words can't explain
I won't hurt no more
I built a shockproof exterior
there's so much I can't ever let show
And when the last breath of smoke
is fading into the cold moonlight
there's nothing left to hide but
frozen ashes
when the last breath of smoke
is fading into the cold moonlight
there's nothing left to hide
it's time to leave it all behind
I don't belong
I was told to move along
tried to fit in
I was proven wrong
all the words left unsaid
and all the letters torn up unsent
buried alive in my head
The song Frozen Ashes by Suburban Tribe is an emotional expression of the pain and loneliness felt by the singer. The opening lines "I couldn't stay, nothing more for me to say" imply that the singer has reached a breaking point and has made the decision to leave. The use of the word "inside" suggests that the turmoil the singer is experiencing is emotional rather than physical. The singer feels that there are emotions that cannot be articulated through words, "there's so much I can't ever let show." This indicates that there are deep-seated feelings that the singer feels unable to express.
The chorus of the song reflects a sense of finality. The imagery created in "the last breath of smoke is fading into the cold moonlight" evokes a feeling of something coming to an end. In this case, it is the end of the pain and suffering the singer has endured. The "frozen ashes" represent the remnants of the past that the singer is leaving behind. The decision to move on is not an easy one, but it is necessary to let go of the hurt. The lyrics "It's time to leave it all behind" expresses the desire to start anew and move forward.
Overall, Frozen Ashes is a powerful and emotive musical piece that expresses the struggles of insecurity, loneliness, and the constant search for a sense of belonging.

If you like this, check out Charon, Sentenced, HIM and The 69 Eyes, too. Maybe Waltari, too.

@Mikko Rantalainen No way, i just listened to the other bands you mentioned. Charon is ok, but HIM is way more Poppy than Tribe and 69 sounds like Billy Idol ;-). Honestly, Sub Tribe was such a good band. Singing was awesome, the atmosphere of their songs, overall great sound. For me, they need a come back! ;-).
