Pigs
Pink Floyd Lyrics
You know that I care
What happens to you
And I know that you care
For me too
So I don't feel alone
Or the weight of the stone
Now that I've found somewhere safe
To bury my bone
And any fool knows a dog needs a home
A shelter from pigs on the wing

I'm 32 now.
Found this album when I was about 12 or 13.
Had turntables me and my friends used to scratch on back then.
Bought a couple boxes of albums from local flea market, got some from a neighbor and my old man gave me his old collection.
When we discovered this album it was set on my left turn table for almost 3 years.
Many bags of smoke were burnt while listening to this album and trying to figure out life as an up and coming young man.
We discussed our lifes aspirations, doubts, fears, plans and made piles of good times with this as the background track.
Now when I hear these songs it takes me back to when life was a bit juicier.
Takes me to the multitude of friends I've lost to drugs since then.
It makes me happy and incredibly sad at the same time.
Music might be the most universal yet least understandable thing in our existence.

Lyrics:
Big man, pig man
Ha, ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel
Ha, ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying 'Keep on digging'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find
Down in the pig mine?
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Bus stop rat bag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You fucked up old hag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hatpin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Hey you, White House
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry

This song scared me as a child when my Dad used to play it. Now I play it for my children..

@Rebel Soul I guess I need to go back and read the lyrics and stop making up what I think is being said 🧐😂🤦🏼♀️

The mood of this song is just so menacing in a good way from Roger’s seething vocals to Rick’s haunting organ playing, and then to David’s absolutely devastating guitar solo, which is one of the best of all time. His solo is such a clear musical encapsulation of feeling righteous anger and a sort of manic, almost desperate rage exploding out. Definitely an underrated PF song

@john marsh I think there's so much great stuff going on in so many Pink Floyd songs, but I feel like the guitar work is often the very best part. David Gilmour's brilliance has been recognized by so many people so many times that I probably can't contribute anything new to the discussion, but I'll just say that all of the praise is not hyperbole. He elevates the songs to new and soaring heights with his brilliant solos.
