The Notorious B.I.G. Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? I'm in love
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Oh oh oh oh oh

그 속엔 귀여운 little puppy (puppy)

Yeah it's a fascination
Like a fantasy
You are oh deep inside my heart

What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? I'm in love
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Oh oh oh oh oh

Yeah it's a fascination
Like a fantasy
You are oh deep inside my heart

What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? I'm in love
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Oh oh oh oh oh

Boy I just wanna fall in love with you

What's in your house?
What's in your house? Woo babe
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house?
What's in your house? I'm in love
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Yeah it's a fascination
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Like a fantasy
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Yeah it's a fascination
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Like a fantasy
What's in your house?
What's in your house? Oh oh oh oh oh

Overall Meaning

In The Notorious B.I.G.'s song The What, the rapper speaks about the concept of beef in the rap industry. He describes it as the hatred between two individuals or groups in which they declare war against each other, with no possibility of peace. He explains that beef is not about being angry or jealous but is a matter of survival. This can be seen with lines such as “Beef is when you need 2 Gats to go to sleep. Beef is when your moms ain't safe up in the streets".

The lyrics are a manifestation of the violent culture of the 90s rap scene. At the time, rappers were often in conflict with one another, and their lives were threatened, resulting in the deaths of several famous rappers, including Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. himself. Despite the violence implied in the lyrics, it is important to note that they were intended to be taken metaphorically. The Notorious B.I.G. was known for his vivid storytelling and wordplay, and this track is no exception.
