This whole album literally saved me. For some reason I'm here again, as I was when this was released on November 30, 2016, but with different account (I lost my other account where I was an active beyhive but I can still see my old comments and fighting floating around lol).

It's almost 6 years since this got released, and a lot has happened. I remember mourning my friend's death just one week after my ex cheated on me. I was 20 and a little younger, and I was crying so hard in my room I didn't know what to do. Then Beyonce dropped this mv back to back. It's like seeing the light. Not long after I fixed myself, moved on, started working out, took care of my skin and overall health, and bought myself pretty clothes and good perfume. It was a poignant time of my life and I was never the same again. This poetry she's narrating in the entire album still inspires me to this day. Lemonade is an art form that impacted me on a personal level.

She's the most Grammy nominated artist but she's second in actual Grammy's for females and other artists have more Grammy's than her. Her Formation tour grossed more than 250 million dollars for 49 shows (it was meant to be less but due to high demand of tickets she needed to add more shows). I visited the plantation this was filmed on. I was actually working on transition lines and residential power lines in Napoleonville, LA. I was following our map schematic and ended up walking right into it. It’s called the Madewood Plantation. Beyoncé actually was here about six or seven weeks after we left that town. It would’ve been cool to see her for sure.

Regarding the plantation itself, I couldn’t even focus and do my job. It was very heavy. The slave houses were still intact and standing. I saw a jail cell style cage. It was pretty crazy for sure. I’m from Wisconsin so I’ve never seen stuff like that in person. I’m blessed for the opportunity to have experienced such an important piece of history but it was definitely sad to wonder what life was like back then. I was digging around the power line posts, swinging this super heavy anti-electrocution shovel in the Louisiana heat, thinking dang man…people were here in this same exact spot not that long ago, busting their ass just like me, but the circumstances were much different. That was a great job as a young man. I’ll never forget the heaviness and sorrow feeling of being on that property. I believe they turned it into a hotel now, which I have an opinion on that - but it doesn’t matter. Anyways, get out and see the world…there’s tons of history out there 👍🏼

When I first heard this I was driving around running errands, and I was carrying a lot of emotional pain that I had ignored and avoided for a long time. And like halfway through the song I was at a red light and just broke down in tears. I think it spoke to me not only about forgiving someone else and loving them but finding that same love and forgiveness within ourselves. For falling for those lies, making those mistakes, not knowing any better, not doing better at certain times. It really cut through me.

Similar experience. My relationship was deteriorating and my life was crumbling right along with it. Mental health in shambles. My healing process took a very long time, I was completely broken. Hearing this, especially the monologue at the beginning, gave me strength and kept me going for some time. It really spoke to me, and I still get emotional when I listen to this.

People keep talking about how Beyoncé has "changed." No shit she has! She's 35 years old, she's a grown woman. And that's not such a bad thing. I love seeing that she's still maturing and growing as an artist, instead of sticking to the same stuff she did 10 years ago.
