my granny and other people close to me died 4 years ago. She loved this track although she found it very lonely it really touched a chord. Every time I listen to it I get goose bumps all over. It takes a certain song to move people and for me this sure does that.

This is one of the most pieces of music I've ever heard. The title is very telling of love and joy gone by long ago and

Eileen open for the Chieftains a long time ago in New York State. As I sat in the open air listening to this song with my Son I felt so surrounded and loved completely by my Irish Mother and older sister long departed but always so close by. Thanks so much for posting this beautiful song and for letting me feel loved like that all over again. Can never hear this song without a tear.

I contacted Joanie Madden, a NY flautist who excells in Irish music. I asked her on FB if thst signature flute sound in this sound was her. she replied yes. Indeed a most moving, heart-felt song of longing. It was composed by Eddy Nivers of Canada.
