I know that Humanz gets a lot of shade, but it was my first ever Gorillaz album. And this was probably my first ever Gorillaz song I ever listened to FOR REAL. I have not been listening to Gorillaz for very long, but I feel as if I have already developed a deep emotional connection with Damon Albarn's music. I used to listen to this in the car all the time when I was younger, and at the time I wasn't too familiar with Gorillaz. Now I know almost every single song on their discography. After Plastic Beach, there was a time Gorillaz was on haitus. I was a major Gorillaz geek at the time, and I was searching all kinds of information about possible new albums.

And then, boom! Humanz dropped, Andromeda was the first song I listened to, and I said to myself: they always find a way to make music fresh. I loved it! And other songs are awesome!

I may not have liked Humanz compared to other Gorillaz albums, but Andromeda is right up there with the best of Gorillaz. Painfully underappreciated.
If it's any justice to the song, at least I hear it get played in electronic stores to showcase their sub woofer. And on a good stereo, this song is transcendent.

I never fail to return to this song each time. It's always been one of my favourites from Gorillaz with something so genuine about it all. I don't know why but it's been terribly comforting for me ever since my aunt passed away last month. She was amazing, kind, the person that accepted me and tried to understand the things that I liked even if she didn't quite understand the concepts of it.
