Come Early Morning
Don Williams Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I been walking, walking in the moonlight
Tripping in the starlight, Lord and I'm feeling down
Walking in the shadows, sneaking down a side road
Come early morning I'll be there on the edge of town

I was a thinking, thinking about a good thing
Thinking bout a sweet dream, in my honey's eyes
And I was a sinking', feeling kind of lonesome
Come early morning I'll be home at my honey's side

I have drifted up across the mountain
And I have stumbled down the other side
And I've been tempted, tried and troubled
Come early morning I'll be home and satisfied

She give me little loving, gives me little sunshine
Makes me have a good time, Lord when I'm feeling' blue
I couldn't refuse her, well I couldn't misuse her
Come early morning I'll be home with my honey dew

All I want to say is this Don Williams is undoubtedly one of the greatest country Legends of all time I know every song he ever seen and even some of the songs that he just borrowed from other entertainers and now he's up there on that beautiful Grand Ole Opry stage in heaven and he's entertaining God himself and God is enjoying himself clapping his hands tapping his feet saying now this is what music is all about this is just my theory you do not need young women walking around with almost nothing on in a country music video I can see talking about hard life you know songs that make you cry makes the tears start while you drink your beer or your shot of whiskey a good old tearjerker song Those Were the great videos but nowadays guys like Don Williams and all the other greats they never get played on TV or the radio oh I see now days in videos or people were women or almost naked then you see subject matter in music videos on Country Music Television that should have close to an MA rating give me back my country I don't have a channel on TV I'll stick with YouTube with all the great Legends cuz this is country music
