This thing should be enduring and significant over time;

So if you're calling me out,
If you're challenging the artist's standards,

Then count me out.
They won't participate in whatever this challenge entails;

You were stubborn and melodramatic,
The person being addressed was unreasonably obstinate and excessively emotional;

A real class act.
The singer is being sarcastic and insinuating that their behavior was not classy at all;

The singer is familiar with the person's traits and tendencies;

The person is prone to expressing intense emotions in inappropriate situations;

Out the same way in.
Their love comes and goes quickly and inconsistently;

I said real,
The artist reiterates that authenticity is important;

Make it timeless.
They want this thing to be enduring and significant over time;

An act of God and nothing less will be accepted.
The singer is still holding out for something truly miraculous;

So if you're calling me out
If someone tries to challenge their standards,

Then count me out.
The artist still won't participate in whatever this may be;
