3 minutes of a perfect stream of melody!!!

And the one thing I love about it is no bombastic instrumentation
@davecroston2914
YES DAMMIT!! I have heard many recordings of this piece played at a much slower tempo that have bogged it down in stogginess. This rendition's MUCH quicker tempo gives it the crisp vitality I'm sure Tchaikovsky would have intended it to be. Well Done !!
@JasonJason210
You like this tempo and that's great. It's a good job there's a tempo out thete for everyone isn't it? What pisses me off is when people try to justify their taste in an interpretation by saying this tempo must be what the composer intended.
@michaeltyree5007
@@JasonJason210 in fairness to the oc, the marking is Allegro giusto, which expresses a very finite range of options. Every conductor has a tempo, but Tchaikovsky’s is “Allegro.”

@specchiobrame2048
Why?
@yourdaebakestoppar6398
@@specchiobrame2048 First violins play in high positions, and the second are playing an octave lower, which means it can easily be heard if someone is out of tune.

This is a wonderful recording. I can't believe I am listening to this again after first hearing it on All India Radio in 1975...!!! Thank you!

Very astonishing that he hated his own music.
@phoneguy4637
@@ILoveOldTWC he didn't hate the music, he hated the ballett performance. he found the "stilted and stiff hopping" annoying. to put salt in wounds, the audiences back then reacted confused, too.

do we have a livin human being that makes classic music? apreciate it:)
@LaPimpernelle
I don't know if anyone is exclusively making things that emulate Tchaikovsky's era of classical, but if you're looking for living composers who are capable of fantastic orchestral work, I can recommend Joe Hisaishi and Shiro Sagisu.
