a esta maravillosa canción la escuché cuando era muy chico, gracias a mis viejos! Una de las composiciones más hermosas del mundo por un gran maestro Frank Chacksfield. Gracias por publicar tanta buena música!

I discovered music on the radio at age 12, and fell in love with this (in those days, 1953, stuff like this was on the hit parade) The only radio in our home was in my father's '47 Lincoln Zephyr, and he let me go out there and listen for hours - what a guy.
@patrickney6584
That's a nice memory.
@8176morgan
I would have thought that a family that owned a 1947 Lincoln Zephyr would have been rich enough to have at least one in the home, or else your parents would have got one for your birthday instead of wearing down the battery of your dad's car.

In 1966, my first year out of school and earning money, I visited a record shop recommended to me, and the owner looked me up and down. "I'm sorry, but we don't sell pop music here." "No - I'm not after pop music - I wonder if you have Ebb Tide". He looked stunned. "Yes - Frank Chacksfield.." "Could you play it, to be sure it's the one I mean?" He did, it was the one, and I bought it, then and there. It was one of those pieces of music that had played on radio since I was 5 years old. It had haunted me and I just had to have it. I still get shivers, hearing it yet again. Wistful, beautiful sound.

1974 on the beach in South Carolina, my fiancee of 2 years, holding hands. She looked at me with a sad look that I totally misread. Had I known at the.time that she was slipping away forever, I would have handled the moment much differently. Never saw her again. This song captures that feeling still today. Frank Chacksfield was one of the great easy-listening orchestra leaders of the 1950's and 1960's, along with other greats such as Percy Faith, Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle and Mantovani. Chacksfield's entire library of music is available from Starborne Productions, which is a great resource.
Now that easy-listening radio stations are all but gone, the only way to hear this music now is at sites like YouTube and Music Choice. It is more popular in Europe now, while interest continues to wane in North America. This is one genre of music which needs to be saved and preserved.

you mean preppy...hahaha Preppy (also spelled preppie) or prep (all abbreviations of the word preparatory) refer to a subculture in the United States associated with the old private Northeastern university-preparatory schools. The terms are used to denote a person seen as characteristic of a student or alumnus of these schools.[1] Prep has become a colloquialism in the United States and has largely replaced preppy in modern usage. Characteristics of preps in the past, include a particular subcultural speech, vocabulary, dress, mannerisms, etiquette, reflective of an upper-class upbringing.[2]
