Castles Made of Sand
Jimi Hendrix Lyrics

Down the street you can hear her scream "you're a disgrace"
As she slams the door in his drunken face,
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbors start to gossip and drool

He cries "Oh girl, you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?"
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

And so castles made of sand,
Fall in the sea, eventually

A little Indian brave who before he was ten,
Played war games in the woods with his Indian friends,
And he built a dream that when he grew up,
He would be a fearless warrior Indian Chief

Many moons passed and more the dream grew stronger,
Until tomorrow, he would sing his first war song,
And fight his first battle, but something went wrong,
Surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night

And so castles made of sand,
Melts into the sea, eventually

There was a young girl, whose heart was a frown,
'Cause she was crippled for life, and she couldn't speak a sound
And she wished and prayed she could stop living,
So she decided to die

She drew her wheel chair to the edge of the shore, and to her legs she smiled
"You won't hurt me no more"
But then a sight she'd never seen made her jump and say
"Look, a golden winged ship is passing my way"
And it really didn't have to stop, it just kept on going

And so castles made of sand
Slips into the sea, eventually

Played war games in the woods with his Indian friends
And he built a dream that when he grew up
He would be a fierce warrior Indian chief

Many moons passed 'fore the dream grew strong
Until tomorrow he would sing his first war song
And fight his first battle, but something went wrong
Surprise attack killed him in his sleep that night

And so castles made of sand
Melts into the sea
Eventually

There was a young girl whose heart was a frown
Because she was crippled for life, and she couldn't speak a sound
And she wished and prayed she could stop living
So she decided to die

She drove her wheelchair to the edge of the shore
And to her legs she smiled, "You won't hurt me no more"
But then a sight she'd never seen made her jump and say

Get Zapped

@Luiz Gehm well look luiz, there is options if you do want a jimi album

For example

Any reprise cd before 1990 for electric ladyland, axis bold as love, are you experienced are all the original analog master straight to cd

The 1990 reprise has no noise and avoid like the plague, the MCA prints are better but over compressed and clips constantly

The experience hendrix cds are the ones to avoid the most

Heavy heavy heavy compression, to the point where they don't even sound the same, because all of hendrixes albums used heavy panning throughout the songs, they are completely ruined from being overly loud

Today is the 50th anniversary of Jimi`s passing. Rest Easy. Gone but not forgotten. This is my favourite Hendrix song.

@John Williams you have good taste mate. I was born in 1981 so well after the death of hendrix but I listened to him since my dad got me the jimi hendrix experience best of when I was 9.

Music on Cassettes back then kid. The format has changed but jimi still sounds good

James Lewis

We need to petition for his legacy to be shared for free on the internet everywhere, thats the way he would've wanted it.

Sounds like a good idea. Keep Jimis name in circulation. He was a good man, he just had problems. Who don't? Maybe even talk to him some day. Tell him he could play music forever and ever in Paradise.
