Corner
Blue Stahli Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Feel me in the corner, oh, beside your mouth
Feel me in the inside of the faintest trace of sound
It's fire underwater, breathing while you drown
Feel me in the saturation when the sun burns out

'Cause I am the one inside you
And I am the one (Inside your veins)
'Cause I am the one inside you
Over and over I'm here again

Far beyond the bruising, something underneath
Feel me in the aftermath when you learn the world has teeth

'Cause I am the one inside you
And I am the one (Inside your veins)
'Cause I am the one inside you
Over and over I'm here again

There is so much more to this than
Phantom limbs for amputees
Here, dissolving through the trauma
This is where you'll feel the breath of me

(I am the one inside you)
And I am the one (Inside your veins)
'Cause I am the one inside you
Over and over I'm here again

'Cause I am the one inside you
And I am the one (Inside your veins)
'Cause I am the one inside you
Over and over I'm here again

Here again!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Blue Stahli's "Corner" speak to the idea of being present in someone's life in a very intimate and personal way. The opening lines of the song, "Feel me in the corner, oh, beside your mouth," and "Feel me in the inside of the faintest trace of sound," suggest a physical closeness and an almost spiritual connection between two people. The metaphor of "fire underwater, breathing while you drown" reinforces the feeling of being submerged in each other's emotions and experiencing an intensity of feeling that is hard to express.

As the song continues, the lyrics take on a darker edge, with lines like "Far beyond the bruising, something underneath" and "when you learn the world has teeth." The implication seems to be that the singer is a sort of emotional protector, there to help the listener weather the storms of their life, no matter how rough things get. The chorus, repeated several times through the song, "Cause I am the one inside you over and over I'm here again," speaks to a constant presence, someone who is always there to help and support.

Blue Stahli are so underrated

@LastChanceBreaker

You imply that there's more than one of them

Bret's on his own, Blue Stahli is one person :P

@pjcaradoc

Lol. if ya say so

@LastChanceBreaker

Peter-John Craddock huh? No, it actually is. Go to Blue Stahli's channel, you'll only see Bret on any of those videos.

@Molue_

Last Chance Breaker! Plus, even if Blue Stahli was more than one person that sentence is still grammatically incorrect, you wouldn't say "Deep Purple are a great band," when you're talking about the band itself and not the people in the band, though case could be made for a bands with a pluralized name like The Beetles.
