Look at Me
John Lennon Lyrics

Look at me
Who am I supposed to be?
Who am I supposed to be?
Look at me
What am I supposed to be?
What am I supposed to be?
Look at me
Oh my love, oh my love

Here I am
What am I supposed to do?
What am I supposed to do?
Here I am
What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
Here I am
Oh my love oh my love

Oh my love
Look at me
Oh, please look at me
My love
Here I am
Oh my love
Who am I?
Nobody knows but me
Nobody knows but me
Who am I?
Nobody else can see
Just you and me
Who are we?
Oh my love, oh my love
Oh my love

@Lucie Melahn he made up his own version after watching John learn how
after Donovan show John Paul hung around and watch John how he did it Paul being a bassist now the guitarist basically showed up created his own hybrid style of it but it all came from the teachings of Donovan that was the influence for both

Lucie Melahn

Its a finger picking pattern he was taught by Donovan in India, during his time with Maharaji 'Sexy Sade'.
Its used in a song on 'Life with the Lions' album, also. It is beautiful.

Same here. If Lennon had never existed, it's hard to think of what music would be like. In my opinion, after Rock'n'roll had faded, but with artists like Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Sam Cooke, Elvis, Roy Orbison had influenced the next artists, I believe John Lennon and Paul McCartney, plus Bob Dylan were such huge influences on the music scene. They came to write such classic songs that were above their peers, and the '60s was an amazing time for great Songwriters and artists, aswell as The Beatles and Bob Dylan, there was The Rolling Stones at their peak, The Who, The Kinks, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Love, Velvet Underground, Jefferson Airplane, The Byrds, Syd Barrett's Pink Floyd, Donovan, The Band, Buffalo Springfield, Crosby, Stills and Nash. Some really brilliant artists just exploded onto the scene in the '60s, with The Beatles and Dylan leading the way. It makes today's music scene look limp and totally unoriginal, devoid of inspiration.
