Octoberfest in Michigan City Indiana...I think it was in August for some reason...1993 or there abouts...A black woman was in the tent on stage and sang this and ROCKED IT like no other. I don't know if it was one of the Steel sisters, maybe they are too young for the era...but I wish I knew who she was. Anyway, I feel lucky to have been there so close and meet her, she was so cool.

I don't know her last name, but have heard her sing a few times and she had such a wonderful voice and stage presence. And she really knew how to connect with her audience. The original version of "old devil moon" is not with this type of percussive afro-cuban rhythm, but rather just typical musical music and arrangement for broadway shows. The "Asia minor" thing only has one chord (F7) and with a more phrygian sound, and coincides with "old devil moon"'s melody for 4 to 5 notes. I mean there are copy cats out there but this is just not a copy and paste...
