This song always brings back sad memories for me. I was in a group home waiting to be placed in a foster home when this song was on the charts. Six of us were taken from our mother after our parents were divorced. In the end it all worked out fine, and my Mom and I have a real strong relationship. At the beginning when it happened, it was very difficult.

I remember going to the Ohio State Fair when this was playing. Mac Davis was opening for the Carpenters, and they were at least an hour late. He was so great that some of us were almost dissapointed when Karen and Richard showed up. (No disrespect..I love them, but he was amazing!)
