Amaranth
Nightwish Lyrics

Baptized with the perfect name
The doubting one by heart
Alone, without himself

War between him and the day
Need someone to blame
In the end, little he can do alone

You believe but what you see
You receive but what you give

Caress the one
The Never-Fading rain
In your heart
To tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one
The hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak

Apart from the wandering pack
In this brief flight of time
We reach for the ones, whoever dare

You believe but what you see
You receive but what you give

Caress the one
The Never-Fading rain
In your heart
To tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one
The hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak

Reaching, searching
For something untouched
Hearing voices of the Never-Fading calling

Caress the one
The Never-Fading rain
In your heart
To tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one
The hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak

"Amaranth"

Baptized with a perfect name
The doubting one by heart
Alone without himself

War between him and the day
Need someone to blame
In the end, little he can do alone

You believe but what you see?
You receive but what you give?

Caress the one, the never-fading
Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one, the hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak

Apart from the wandering pack
In this brief flight of time we reach
For the ones, whoever dare

You believe but what you see?
You receive but what you give?

Caress the one, the never-fading
Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one, the hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak [x2]

Reaching, searching for something untouched
Hearing voices of the never-fading calling
Calling [x2]

Caress the one, the never-fading
Rain in your heart - the tears of snow-white sorrow
Caress the one, the hiding amaranth
In a land of the daybreak [x2]

Daybreak!

I know this post is 6 years old. But I feel I need to add to it.

I don't think many people thought she was a terrible singer. At least I can attest that I didn't. However the opera-esque singer is what appealed nightwish to alot of there fan base. With annete she made nightwish just anouther (but still good) female led band.

Not only that but her inability to sing in the style of tarja put off many people who wanted to hear the 'classics'.

I feel that was an unfair pressure to put on her tbh. If you can separate them in your head as two separate bands then its alot easier to enjoy. Amaranth is possibly my favourite nightwish song. But I preferred the tarja nightwish in general.

Don't know bout that singer they have now. I have never listened to her. But I heard she is also operatic style, and I would assume the nightwish fans who came to the scene under the annete era would have similar issues (albeit to a lesser scale) with the new girl

Some people like Anette, some might prefer Tarja or Floor. But deep inside we all know Marco was the true queen of nightwish

She and Tarja were the best voices: Power and pressure

she is very good singer, better than most nowadays but her stage presence isnt as magical as Floor or Tarjas , in live I prefer Tarja or Floor but otherwise I have nothing against Anettes voice

Love Annette's voice. And I like all four singers Nightwish has had.
