Meadowlarks
Fleet Foxes Lyrics

Meadowlark, fly away down
I hold a cornucopia and a golden crown
For you to wear upon your fleeced down

My meadowlark sing to me

Hummingbird, just let me die
Inside the broken ovals of your olive eyes
I do believe you gave it your best try

My hummingbird sing to me,
My hummingbird sing to me

Don't believe a word that I haven't heard
Little children laughing at the boys and girl
The meadowlark singing to you each and everyday
The arc light on the hill side and the market in the hay

I had this dream that it was a summer night outside, my coworkers & I were all standing underneath the pale light of a street light, on a large patch of soft grass, having fun as we passed a large beach ball, and a large frisbee around the night sky.

We were laughing, telling jokes, and all around enjoying each other's company. I remember a co-worker was feeling sad, however, talking about how she'd miss us, and that she'd be going off to start her old job, which she was pretty scared about, since she wasn't in a good place when she was working there.
We comforted her, giving her hugs, and telling her that she'd be okay.
When it was time for her to leave, she was in tears, but she was ready to start another chapter in her life. I remember following her to her car, watching her get in & drive off into the night.
She & I didn't say anything to each other, no goodbyes or well wishes. I felt kinda sad that things ended the way they did between her & I, but after watching her go; I felt that sadness slowly lifted from my heart.
A Fleet Foxes song started playing in my head as I turned back around to face my friends, a ball came bouncing back to me, and I ended up passing it back to them, and joining them in their company. Things felt different, but things felt better than they did before.

This was that song.

If I have a kid someday in my life, I'm gonna put these songs to he/she sleep. And take a lot of care.

I love this song. I don't have a favorite one though - they're all so great.

This song reminds me of Rue from the Hunger Games.

This deserves way more comments. It’s too beautiful to only have 7.
