The song "Living Well" by Bedhead touches on the concept of what it means to really live a meaningful life. In the opening lines, the singer notes how each passing day can slowly harden a person's sense of what it means to be alive. They suggest that when we become too bogged down in pain and negativity, even the idea of God won't save us. Nevertheless, the singer still holds out hope for their friend whom they are praying for. They acknowledge that their prayers may not necessarily accomplish anything concrete, but they are still moved to act.
The latter half of the song sees the singer making a powerful offer to their friend. They say that they would give half of themselves for their friend's sake, even though they know it wouldn't necessarily help them in the long run. Here, we see that the singer is grappling with the idea of control vs. powerlessness. They want to do something--anything--to help their friend, even if it's just a symbolic offering. Ultimately, the song seems to suggest that we should strive to live well in spite of our circumstances, even if it seems like God or fate has abandoned us.
