Overall Meaning

The lyrics to NUMBER GIRL's song OMOIDE IN MY HEAD tell the story of a teenage boy who is struggling with his memories and reality. He spends the night awake and as the morning comes, he stumbles back home on a deserted train. The train ride is surreal, as the morning sun colors everything in a dream-like hue. I remember finding these guys back in 2010 and being in fucking love with them ever since.
So many bands like Number Girl who are absolute fucking beasts, came and left their mark and said goodbye. Ended things on a high note and peacefully.

Cream ( Internal fighting, and lasted only 2 years, but left a mark on the rock industry)
Los Saicos (Peruvian Punk band and are seen as the forefathers of punk having only been around 2 years)
Operation Ivy ( Their influence in the punk/Ska scene was incredible, they disbanded and the guitarist and bassist went on to form Rancid)

I live close to this venue and I've been there numerous times before and yeah I agree with you. It's actually a lot bigger than it looks here but still the audience can get close to the band so it's one of the best venues to play. Quite spacious but not too much.

You can really feel the emotions of the crowd at 4:02.
It's like their last scream for the band that they've loved since the beginning, there's so much emotion behind it. This show was the last time Number Girl and a crowd would ever join together and have the same emotions. It feels so real, so true, so engaging, so energetic, that it makes you breathless. Even if someone doesn't like this kind of music, that doesn't matter, because the people here love the band and the band knows it. What a spectacle!
What a fitting song for the their last performance. "Omoide" means "memories" in Japanese, so "Memories in My Head" is a perfect phrase for the end.

I like to imagine that most band animes and it's genre are based on these guys lmao this just feels like the final episode to one of those sad bittersweet ones. where the ending isn't a happy one and the characters you want to fall in love with each other don't. It's an ending that tells the tale of a life so real it feels like you're not watching a show. Where the characters learn the tough lesson that dreams can only take you so far no matter how hard you try, the world is always ready to crush them and that's alright, we dream cause we can and we're free to have multiple ones and sadly sometimes ours don't come true but the small attempt we made and the trail we paved will hopefully lead others who have the same dream down the right way.

A story about lives are really my favorite ones.

Also yes, they were uploaded in spotify (here in France) not long after they've announced the reunion last year or so I think.

Yeah, I am 26 now because I was born in April. I still listen to them. 2 years after I wrote that comment I moved to Japan. I have a BA in Japan studies and am pretty much fluent in Japanese. I feel like I owe some of that to my interest in this band. My first year in Japan I even joined a music club at the Japanese university I was studying, there I met some other Number Girl fans. It was a lot of fun. So, thanks Number Girl!
