The lyrics are way too deep as well as the music video and it is very emotional. I think the piano represent the person he loves that he keep holding on to it, despite the big waves coming which acts like the problems, heartache and such that keeps their relationship drowning down and looks like he is the only one trying to save it and the other one already gave up thus making him broke by himself and in the end, he just embraced it. He embraced his broken heart.

i'm Filipino and i just noticed that most of foreign songs being trended in my country are from underrated artists like LANY so i'm so proud to my fellow filipinos who know to appreciate underrated artists not only the current mainstream artists but i'm more proud for filipinos who equally appreciate and listened to OPM and foreign songs they love

More Taehyung and Jihoon interaction please Well I started to like underrated artists that are indie (indie rock, indie acoustic, etc) is because they make music soo good that what mainstream people miss. Like they don't have to be popular, I just want them to have awesome music. That's why I don't really pay attention too much on mainstream music. :)

It is so beautiful, Lany. I really admire Paul's effort to do these scenes(must be really hard, imagine you literally take these waves hits). You love the ocean so much even though the waves slowly drag you down, left you hurt and salty. Music is the only thing you hold on to. But in the end, you still go back to the ocean over and over again. Knowing its waves will always either pushed you away or drown you. Shit man.

This was my go-to song 3 years ago when I broke up with someone I dated for over a year. He cheated. I couldn't even shed a tear because the pain was too much. It was as if my heart was being torn to pieces. It was my first major heartbreak. I was too afraid to open up to anybody. I opted to suffer silently. I did my best to act normal in school even if I keep seeing him there.
Then I found the two songs that were close to what I was going through at the time, Malibu nights and Thru these tears.
Listening to these songs became my outlet. They were painful but for some reason comforting. I'd go home from school and burst these songs so loud in my room on repeat and lie on my bed staring blankly at the ceiling. It got to a point where my siblings got sick of the songs.

I've been coming back here to listen to these songs from time to time just to check if the pain is still the same whenever I hear them. I'd say that after 3 years I feel almost completely fine. The heavy feeling is now gone. I can say that "In the end 'am now' all right".

Thank you LANY for these beautiful songs. It helped me go through one of my most painful phases. You will always have a special place in my heart.
