WOW! The last time I heard this song was as a .45 on my sisters record player in 1969. I was @ 4 years old and she'd play this song while having my teddy bears dance to the music to cheer me up during thunderstorms. I'd sing along and dance to the music (such as a 4yo can). Hard to believe that was literally in another century. A time when the only thing in the house that ran on batteries was a transistor radio.

My dad used to play this in our 86 jeep cherokee when I was a kid. The cassette player was the best thing about that jeep, and although I didn't really like most of the music he played, this one I could put up with most days. It's still not my kinda music, but it's one of many memories I cherish. My dad passed away at the age of 59 on Nov 25, and today would have been his birthday.

As a 10 year old it was nice to hear someone who could make their voice sound like mine and ours when we were goofing. That was the great thing about 60's music....that so much of it was made by young ones like us. So we could relate. Then bubblegum seemed to end as we surpassed it and got into puberty.

I was born in the early 70’s. This song was one I grew up listening to. This and My Green Tambourine by the Lemon Pipers. I came here after reading through the extensive comments left on the classic mounds chocolate bar commercial (my number one favorite commercial of all time). Apparently Joey Levine sang for that as well and he wrote the lyrics to “sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t quote” although he did’t sing it.
