I've been listening, studying, running, meditating, thinking, dancing, sleeping, dreaming to Open Eye Signal on and off ever since the album came out, its an organic track that transcends simply "EDM" and one I use to show people what I mean when you don't have to dance to electronic music, it just goes with life and so much more. The first time I encountered Jon Hopkins music I was immediately inspired to get into music production. I was 15 years old, I went to the Coldplay's "Viva La Vida Tour" in 2009, and Jon opened up the concert with Malice in Wonderland visuals with his album "Insides". It was magnificent. It was a great Coldplay concert, but Jon Hopkins got me blasted and I didn't know it yet.
@peterklonthetube
What a masterpiece. The constant changes, flats and sharps ups and downs, it's a roller coaster or irregularity and synchronization. Ascending and descending. And all this with ever changing background of unknown..

@joebanks4997
As far as introspective reflection on life, I don't think there's a better pathway piece than Abandon Window. I'm aware that it was originally written for a tsunami that killed a lot of people however I was unaware of that the first time I heard it. For me it's a pathway to deep reflection upon life itself, a way to appreciate the passage of time and to understand the nature of transience in the people around us. It connected me to my inner core and my inner truth and allowed me to understand that there are people around me who I appreciate and love deeply.
Thank you Jon. an absolute masterpiece.

Im 45 and never heard on John Hawkins...and i know most music..but i saw the comments..and just needed to put in comments what this album does for my soul...
This complete album in my personal view is simple..yet comprensably intregrate at same time!!! Its completely void yet completely over flowing at same time!! Its eerily silent yet screaming out at same time!!
I could listen to Immunity on repeat for weeks if not months...it creates that void in your life that you lost along the way...and it brings that void to bring uou back to yourself..its selfish yet felt deeply by all!!

@alejandropnt
Hi Jon, listening to your music I've always had the the feeling that each little sound, each distorted percussion or atmospheric pad, has been consciously crafted with a lot of intention. My question is: what's your mental process when you craft those sounds. How do you know that each sound is "done" and continue to work on the rest of the track.
Do you tend to "jam" a lot, experiment and listen to the "rushes"... or do you make a series of concious decisions, bounce the audio, and continue ?
thanks for taking the time to answer our questions ๐๐ป
