Don't Stay Out Late
Lord Creator Lyrics

Oh little girl you have me in a rage
It's getting late and you are under age
Look at the time, it's after eight
And that's the end of our date
Your daddy said you shouldn't stay out late

You'd like to stay with me the whole night through
But that is not the proper thing to do
Very soon there'll come a day
When you can come to me to stay
But right now you must hear what daddy say

(.)

Oh little girl you have me in a rage
It's getting late and you are under age
Look at the time, it's after eight
And that's the end of our date
Your daddy said you shouldn't stay out late

That beautiful voice! Lord Creator contributed so much to Jamaican music. Took me a while to realize he wasn't Jamaican! Big up to our Trini brethren!!

This is Top Class Music coming straight from My country Jamaica!! Very proud of the quality music we have produced over the years ..It is also great to have others see that we were making fantastic music long before Bob Marley became world famous ( not saying Bob was not great , he still remains one of the best entertainers in the world!!) and we are very proud of him) However people of other lands can enjoy Jamaican music of a different sort . Thanks for posting !!

SF, and Bob's earlier music is some of his best.

Big up to Lord Creator from my home town of San Fernando Trinidad.
He made some great contributions to Jamaican music after leaving Trinidad in late 1959. Btw Creator's classic hit "Evening News" that some folks describe as early ska was recorded in 1959 in Trinidad with the Fitz Vaughan Bryan Orchestra before he left for Jamaica and was not recorded in Jamaica as many folks mistakenly believe.

@CherCherico Nope, Lord Creator is Trinidadian. He grew up in San Fernando Trinidad (also my home town) and started writing and recording calypsos and alternative music at age 17 and had a few hit calypsos and swing hits before leaving Trinidad for Jamaica at age 19 to perform and record there due to the immense success of his 1959 hit "Evening News" which was recorded in Trinidad.
Jamaica rock steady pioneer Lynn Taitt is also from my home town of San Fernando in Trinidad.
