After studying with Hindu Teachers it was inevitable that her music would take shape on a higher level. What she was able to see in her music took on a deeply Spiritual presence over her and everything she would see while playing her instruments. This piece is definitely coming from another plane and I see waves like the ocean as I'm listening to the harp.

Bass player is Cecil McGhee and I disagree he is playing different to his normal approach which is usually more busy to suit this music. When I first heard this track I assumed it was Jimmy Garrison and it sounds like him and was surprised when I found out it was McGhee!

As I listen to Alice, a lot of her cuts have repeating phrases... In this case the base line. Some may interpret this as simplistic, but it is very spiritual. In order to reach a certain state of mind, you need to focus. Complexity confuses the mind and distracts. A simple repeating mantra focuses all of your thoughts...I think that is the beauty in Alice's music. She always has a repeating phrase to focus on, but the modal freedom to explore and carry the mind. I have a hard time labeling her work as "jazz." This shit is transcendental. This shit will make you quit your job, start smoking weed, sell all your worldly possessions, join a commune and stop using deodorant.

Listening to this we experience a world of beauty, peace and satisfaction. So, we live in a world that is not ours, some other place that we really don't know and, most of the time, we don't want to. And we keep our heads down to the mobile phone, we forget how to look people in the eye, we forget ourselves and the world we live in, just pray for the best and pretend that everything's alright. Well, the older I get the more convinced we are not a product of natural evolution, we are just a big mistake that will bury itself with greed , stupidity, politics, and a total lack of interest in all that surrounds us. What, you don't agree?!?... I'm just saying that the beauty, peace and satisfaction could've been ours for us to live in, we just didn't want it. And we still do but don't . We are humans so we are dumb, and dumber every day that goes by, so the only thing we know how to do is enjoy the music and watch the parade marching until the world, our world, is far beyond saving. At least for us to live in it. Anyway, beautiful Music. And thank God, that I don't think it's out there, we are not all alike. The name Coltrane proves it.

And now this repeated fashion of far right governments, Brazil, Poland, Hungary and so on. What are they doing? We are living on the brink of vanishing from the face of the Earth in 100 years. And people still deny global warming. The mammals, fish and insects are dying in an abnormal speed. We need them like we need water. Do people care? Nah.
