When I bought this record in the early sixties, it was called "Negro Folk Songs & Tunes From North Carolina", same record, different title.  I still have it and still play it.  This and "Dave Van Ronk Folk Singer" were the two records that taught me to fingerpick.  I still play songs from those records.

"A good example"?! Shame on you @JRRecordingCo. This is, without doubt, a masterclass. Elizabeth Cotten plays not just left-handed but upside down. Please read the comments of others here and rethink your tone. A work of genius is on show, not just a "good example".

That paragraph was a quote from Mike Seeger, taken from the liner notes in the booklet that came with Libba's first LP. not the words of J.R. Rhodes. You should have said, "Shame on you Mike Seeger."
By the way, Mike knew Libba from when he was a kid and he produced her first LP on Folkways. Libba's return to playing music was on a guitar borrowed from the Seeger family.
