Just a throwaway about this song : when I was young, sometimes me and my parents would see their friends for the day and go home late. I would fall asleep on the way back, on the back seat of the car, while listening to the radio. And one day, this song passed on the Jazz Music station. I absolutely loved it, that and another song, but I never was able to find them back.

It discussed historical jazz influences such Dave Brubeck's metre changes and "lowering the action" on the bass that was popularized by the Bill Evans Trio. The essay also went into detail about the chord changes, instrument interactions and the overall timbre in a schematic format. It would do the essay better justice to post it, but all my university is copyrighted and thus belongs to the university. :/

Not at all. Where do you get piazzolla from this? This is neither 4/4 swing rythmn, nor is it a tango-jazz fusion. Their compositional styles are way different.

I felt that, the first time I heard this song and Avishai's trio ...I thought half joking, like god had come down to sit in on doing a bit of jazz on earth, and this was the group of people he decided to do that with👏🤗😂 I've never thought that before, nor am I religious. It's phrased as 3+3+3+2 with two bar phrases. It's really fast though, so it can be tricky to count, I don't imagine that any of them are consciously counting it, so much as just internalising the groove.
