So We're Named After Saints
Yashin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

We are miles away, but getting closer
This love is alive in me
This love is alive in me yet

The thing that makes this love alive
Is that I'd want your heart to beat
Instead of mine
The places I've lived all my life
Only feel like home
When you're inside

There's heroes alive in us yet
You've got to find them before they run away-again
The heroes that live in ourselves
You've got to find them
You've got to find them

Your eyes tell me try harder
But you're lost in the headlights
And I'm lost in your eyes

There's heroes alive in us yet
You've got to find them before they run away-again
The heroes that live in ourselves
You've got to find them
You've got to find them

So I say the same thing over
Over and over
I'll love you till the end
So I say the same thing over
Over and over
I'll love you till the end

The heroes that live in ourselves
You've got to find them
You've got to find them

So I say the same thing over
Over and over
I'll love you till the end

Overall Meaning

The song "So We're Named After Saints" by Yashin speaks about the power of love and the need to find one's own inner strength to overcome obstacles. The lyrics talk about being miles away from the person they love, but getting closer. Despite the distance, love remains alive in the singer's heart. The singer expresses the desire to have their lover's heart beating in place of theirs, emphasizing how much they long for them. The line "The places I've lived all my life only feel like home when you're inside" underlines how important their lover is to them and how they feel incomplete without them.

The chorus highlights the idea of having heroes alive within oneself, which one needs to find before they run away. The singer highlights the need to find these heroes within oneself to overcome challenges and struggles. The line "your eyes tell me try harder, but you're lost in the headlights, and I'm lost in your eyes" could be seen as a metaphorical representation of the challenge in the relationship, where both parties feel lost and uncertain, but the singer remains confident in their love.

The repetition of the line "I'll love you till the end" towards the end of the song is a reaffirmation of the depth and sincerity of the singer's love. The song's overall message is one of love being a powerful force and the need to find one's inner strength to overcome struggles.

I haven't listened to this band in ages, but the first time I heard of them was from that C4/ or C5 show called battle of the bands, I met up them back in 2007 i think it was and as a keeno i was i arrived so early to the gig when i mean early think i got there at like 8am but I ended up hanging out with the band and went to Camden town with them, I went to have a look on Spotify but none of their songs are their and it looks like the whole band has changed only Paul looks familiar. Nice guys to hang out with at the time but godnows if they would ever read this post and remember who i was haha.
