Man. Lang Lang gets criticized for his seemingly exaggerated hand movement and facial expression, but he is truly one of the best pianists of our times. I am glad he made a remarkable comeback after his injury. I can't wait to see him back in a concert hall.

I was listening to this on a rainy, my house was completely dark, no lights at all, all windows open, and for some reason the mix of sounds between this masterpiece and the rain, just made it perfecto, to the point that I actually had tears running down my face. I wished I could've listen to my grandfather, when he was trying to teach me the piano.

I would like to think that this is the best version I have ever heard. You play the whole piece in a restrained manner, but I don't feel a sense of there being a hurry that's being slowed. It's like the pace of nature, a flower opening to greet the light. The beauty keeps increasing, and even at the end, the beauty remains in my memory.

In no way do I wish to minimize very real pain and loss. I'm sure those feelings are very keen. That said, " ... would have ..."? I'll "see" your "would have" and raise it to a "does." Your mileage varies, perhaps, but those we love and lose (at least for a time) are simply elsewhere, in another realm, not easily perceived by mortal human beings. This is the most smooth interpretation I have ever listened to, its like a steady stream flow of water, it even seems like you don't know whats coming next after each note, eventhough you have heard it hundreds of times, some people play it section for section and you can clearly distinguish the transitions, which makes it not so smooth to listen to and just feels like text book playing, but Lang Langs takes it to a whole different level.

This is, without doubt, the finest interpretation of Debussy’s Clair de Lune I have ever experienced. Lang Lang takes us to the stars the moon and back with him and his Steinway on a boat on the river in Paris. Very, very special indeed. His playing is out of this universe.

This just gave me goosebumps throughout the entirety of this rendition. There are lot of really great performances out there, but this just really hits me. This rendition is like a dream, but no ordinary dream, not your ordinary dream that you could possibly think of. The way that he uses the pedal here to create some wet effect to bring out those layers of color whilst keeping that voicing intact and well put. This is just out of this world, just as how I literally imagined it to sound like. Hands down to the Maestro.

I think Lang Lang said in one of the interviews that Clair de Lune is one of his favorite pieces. When asked why he answered that it contained such longing, so vivid and so deep. But somehow his interpretation makes me think not about the moon but the sea, the waves flashing the beach over and over again. It's so beautiful it makes me long for death in some way.

Just had to find the full version after hearing the music box on the movie Seven Years In Tibet. I also recall it from the movie Oceans 11 starring George Clooney. This is where I heard it first at the end with the water fountains. It just moved me to tears. Such a symbolic piece of composed music is simplicity, serenity and joy. I had twice the privilege to watch this, also kind and sympathetic, man play from close distance (second and third row). His concentration is infectious, his interpretation was on both concerts phenomenal.

I love the way Lang Lang plays, and I find his life story to be as compelling as his playing. In this piece, I particularly enjoyed his ability to depict through the piano the highlights and movement of the water.

Absolutely beautifully played, very moving. I feel like the tempo for this piece was perhaps a little slower than it is normally played, however the maestro was clearly was entranced in the moment, and I felt captivated by each note he played with such emotion. Incredible.

such a great creative move to hold the sustain longer than normal so that the reverb of the finished chords subtly clash with the ones he's playing, creating a misty blanket of sound. suits perfectly the haunting nature of the piece.
