After a tour together, members of local Sacramento, CA bands Black Liquorice and Popesmashers formed !!!. The band's name was inspired by the subtitles of the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy, in which the mouth-clicking sounds of the Bushmen were represented as "!". Chk Chk Chk is the most common pronunciation, but they could just as easily be called Bam Bam Bam, Uh Uh Uh, Pew Pew Pew, etc. etc. etc.
Based in Sacramento, California; Portland, Oregon; and New York City, their debut full-length record came out in 2000 as a self-titled album on the Gold Standard Laboratories label. This was followed in 2003 by the single "Me and Giuliani Down By the School Yard", a lengthy track combining house beats with sinewy basslines, psychedelic guitars, and simple lyrics which quote the title song of the musical Footloose.
They are commonly associated with the dance-punk movement. A second full-length, Louden Up Now, was released on Touch and Go in America and on Warp in Europe in June 2004. In June 2005, !!! released a new EP covering "Take Ecstasy With Me" by The Magnetic Fields, and "Get Up" by Nate Dogg. The following December, the original drummer for the band, Mikel Gius, was struck and killed by a car while riding his bike. !!! released their third album, Myth Takes in 2007.
!!! was composed of Mario Andreoni (guitar), Dan Gorman (horns/percussion/keys), Nic Offer (vocals), Tyler Pope (bass/various electronic devices), and Allan Wilson (horns/percussion/keys). Touring members include Shannon Funchess (vocals) and Paul Quattrone (drums). The band also shared membership with the similar, defunct group Out Hud (including Tyler Pope, who has played with LCD Soundsystem).
Vocalist and drummer John Pugh officially left the band in July 2007 to concentrate on his new band Free Blood. Shannon Funchess stood in for Pugh during much of their 2007 tour.
John Frusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers saw the band in a gig in Los Angeles and invited them to support the Red Hot Chili Peppers during their 2006 tour of the UK.
Their drummer, Jerry Fuchs, passed away after falling from an elevator shaft on 8th November 2009. He was pronounced dead upon reaching the hospital.
The band kept shifting ever since with current members (2020) being Nic Offer, Mario Andreoni, Dan Gorman, Rafael Cohen, Chris Egan and guest singer and performer Meah Pace.
"Strange Weather, Isn't It?", their 4th effort was released on the 23rd of August 2010 followed in 2013 by "THR!!!ER", "As If" in 2015, "Shake The Shudder" (2017) and "Wallop" (2019). Their lastest EP "Certified Heavy Kats" was released late July 2020.

I know you'll want more
I know you'll want more more more more more
I know you'll want more
I know you'll want more
I know you'll want more more more more more
I know you'll want more
I know you'll want more
I know you're right here
Ooh, did I live, in evil I did dwell
Ooh, did I live, in evil I did dwell
The lyrics to !!!'s song "Dear Can" seem to be exploring themes of desire, addiction, and temptation. The repetition of "I know you'll want more" emphasizes a sense of craving for something, whether it be material or emotional. This could be seen as a warning to the self or to others, acknowledging that the desire for more can often lead to destructive behavior.
The second part of the lyrics--"Ooh, did I live, in evil I did dwell"--adds a darker element to the song. It suggests a kind of internal struggle between good and evil, with the singer admitting to living in a place of darkness. This could be interpreted as a confession of past mistakes or a current battle with inner demons.
