Dive
&I ft. Giggly Maria Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Pull up a seat and dive right in.
Toss one back for our fallen friends.
And we're screamin' long may they last.
Good times we had. They're ours. You can't have em back.

Pull up a chair.
Let me see your face.
Forget the pain of this rotten place.
Now we're screamin'.
Tonight our worries, they're buried.
They're fuckin' dust.

Sometimes we let the cold in.
Now we're freezing in the dead of summer.
When I'm a shattered shell in the morning,
Catch me smiling.
Don't you feel better?

Here's to the fallen, the bruised and broken.
May they never be forgotten.
Hear us calling.
We suffer together.
No one's alone.

Sometimes we let the cold in.
Now we're freezing in the dead of summer.
When I'm a shattered shell in the morning,

Catch me smiling.
Don't you feel better?

Overall Meaning

"Dive In" by &I ft. Giggly Maria is a song about celebrating life's good times while also acknowledging the difficult times that we may face. The song begins with the line "Pull up a seat and dive right in," which encourages the listener to actively participate in the moment and forget about their worries. The lyrics then reference "our fallen friends," which implies that the good times being celebrated may have been influenced by the loss or absence of loved ones. Despite this sadness, the lyrics proclaim "long may they last," showing appreciation for the positive memories and experiences shared.

The chorus of the song is particularly powerful, with the lyrics "Here's to the fallen, the bruised and broken. May they never be forgotten. Hear us calling. We suffer together. No one's alone." This section shows solidarity with those who may be struggling or experiencing hardship, and encourages empathy and support. The imagery used in the song is also interesting, with references to the cold and warmth. The line "Sometimes we let the cold in. Now we're freezing in the dead of summer," may represent the sense of isolation or detachment that can come with difficult times, while "Catch me smiling. Don't you feel better?" suggests the power of positivity and connection.

Overall, "Dive In" is a poignant and emotional song that encourages celebration of life while also recognizing its complexities and hardships.

I've listened to the song a few times now and after looking at the description I see that the lyrics I thought I heard are not exactly what was intended :D

I do not worry, I'm never in a hurry,
the past so far is just fine. I'll take it, risk it.
The time that you spend locked up with decisions
has hinted more than aided (a) for you, for you
Don't need a plan, the fun is all on
And now we're alone. I've got ya', got ya'
Don't need a map, the fun's adventure
And now I'll risk ya', diving, diving,
diving, diving, diving, diving...

I do not worry, I'm never in a hurry,
the past so far is just fine. I'll take it, risk it.

The time that you've spent locked up with decisions
has hindered more than aided, I'll free you, free you.

Don't need a plan, the fun is unknown,
I'm never alone; I've got you, got you.

Don't need a map, the fun's adventure,
and all I've risked yet - Dive in, Dive in!

Dive in Dive in! Dive in Dive in

@Luvatar

Just a note, this part of the Lyrics:

‘Cause they can’t let go, they keep holding on
To the past, scared to be out of control,

The comma should be after "Scared to". I had a lot of trouble trying to make sense of it until I realized that comma was on the wrong place.

‘Cause they can’t let go, they keep holding on
To the past scared to, be out of control,
