Ratzinger was the creative force behind Wumpscut, occasionally employing the help of others as guest artists. Ratzinger cites the influence of such bands as Leæther Strip as his reason for making the transfer from DJing to recording music.
The release of the song "Soylent Green", which is named after the 1973 movie and also contains audio samples from the German dubbed version, first attracted attention to Wumpscut. Since its release in 1993, it has become a frequently played song at events and clubs in the gothic and industrial subcultures and its associated splinter groups, both in Germany and the United States.
So far Ratzinger has published numerous recordings and remixes for other artists. Wumpscut is also very well known for elaborate box set releases including limited versions of a CD or LP release in a box with additional and often also limited bonus material (bonus tracks, energy drinks, posters, pins, stickers, bags, flags, etc.). Wumpscut albums are reissued regularly with variant artworks and occasionally bonus tracks. Standalone merchandise is also available such as caps, mugs, etc.

Deliverance
:Wumpscut: Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
We're searching for the final solution
For our fate our hopeless mess
Deriding laughter is your contribution
Caught up our mess
Search out solute
Our fate hopeless
Why don't you deliver us from pain and evil
We stand in a quiver of our god and we will
Follow his will as long as he will feed us
But we're not sure if he does really need us
The lyrics of Wumpscut's song Deliverance present a perspective of individuals who feel overwhelmed by their problems, and they seek a way out of their circumstances. They feel that they are caught up in a hopeless mess and therefore they seek a final solution. The lyrics express their feeling of being hopeless and powerless in their situation. The line "Deriding laughter is your contribution" further highlights the fact that they feel ridiculed or mocked by others, adding to their distress.
However, despite feeling helpless, the lyrics express a glimmer of hope in seeking deliverance from pain and evil. They speak of standing in awe of their god, and are willing to follow his will if he would just feed them. However, they are unsure if they are truly needed by their god or if their prayers will be answered.
Overall, the lyrics of Deliverance present a painful and tumultuous journey of individuals who seek a way out of their despair. They feel trapped and powerless to the point of seeking divine intervention, but at the same time, they are not sure if they will receive it.
