Ratzinger was the creative force behind Wumpscut, occasionally employing the help of others as guest artists. Ratzinger cites the influence of such bands as Leæther Strip as his reason for making the transfer from DJing to recording music.
The release of the song "Soylent Green", which is named after the 1973 movie and also contains audio samples from the German dubbed version, first attracted attention to Wumpscut. Since its release in 1993, it has become a frequently played song at events and clubs in the gothic and industrial subcultures and its associated splinter groups, both in Germany and the United States.
So far Ratzinger has published numerous recordings and remixes for other artists. Wumpscut is also very well known for elaborate box set releases including limited versions of a CD or LP release in a box with additional and often also limited bonus material (bonus tracks, energy drinks, posters, pins, stickers, bags, flags, etc.). Wumpscut albums are reissued regularly with variant artworks and occasionally bonus tracks. Standalone merchandise is also available such as caps, mugs, etc.

Don't Go
:Wumpscut: Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Don't tell me you would live in wild insanity
I don't want you to go
I don't want you to go don't go
I tell you I would like to see you here with me
But I know we could not live within harmony
The lyrics of Wumpscut’s song “Don’t Go” expresses a strong sense of attachment and fear of losing someone close. The lines “Don’t tell me you would die for my reality/Don’t tell me you would live in wild insanity” suggests the singer’s unwillingness to accept their loved one’s extreme devotion and willingness to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the singer’s reality or fun. They are expressing the fear that if their partner goes too far for them, they may end up losing them completely.
The repetition of the lines “I don’t want you to go” highlights the fear of abandonment and loneliness the singer is experiencing. They want their loved one to stay with them, but they are also aware that their lifestyles and values are not compatible, as they state “But I know we could not live within harmony”. The song acknowledges the complexity of relationships and how sometimes, no matter how much we care for someone, for one reason or another, we cannot be together.

Don't make false promises that you would sacrifice your life for my perception of the truth
Don't pretend to be willing to die for my beliefs just to impress me
Don't claim that you would prefer to live in a state of chaotic madness
Don't pretend to be attracted to insanity just to seem interesting
I don't want you to depart from my side
I desire for you to stay with me
I plead for you to stay, don't leave me
I implore you to remain, don't go away
I admit that I would love for you to be here with me
I confess that I desire your presence by my side
However, I understand that our differences would prevent us from coexisting in peace
Unfortunately, I realize that our conflicting natures would make it impossible for us to live in harmony
