¡Mayday! & Murs Lyrics

¡MURSDAY!
Come on, Come on!
Get up, Get up!
Yeah, Yeah!
Get up!

What up though, this ¡MURSDAY!
Know the game wanted this in the worst way
Like a nigga tryna fuck on the first date
From the West Coast that's my birth place
L.A., CA, all day I stay in Dodger blue and gray
Do It Big Keep It Strange
All day from the 8-1-6 to the M-I-A!

I'm like ooohh eeee naturally
These muhfuckas all live in a fantasy
Schoolyard MC, no sympathy
I got a bone to pick with they faculty
They ain't a fan of me and my friends
Always bangin' beats on they bench
Wanna keep us under their lens till we burn like ants
Cause we the chosen

Give me that table knock
Friends went and had babies and changed the locks
Got a job at a desk where they slave for the checks
And they judged me just cuz I drink a lot
God Damn
See me, Ima be that monster, pray for props
Let em all have paper and race for stocks
All I ever needed was to bang tabletops!

Bang-Bang-Bangin' on these tabletops!
Bangin, we bangin, we bangin, we bangin
Bangin, we bangin, BANGIN' ON THESE TABLETOPS!

Fuck all y'all it's my turn
In the past year wanna know what I learned
Everybody wanna be the next hot shit
Don't nobody wanna feel that fire burn
Don't nobody wanna work hard now
On the internet feelin' like stars now
But if you got funk then swing monkey
If not then put them bars down

Never was a popular kid, a social misfit
I just wrote rhymes and chased bitches
Battle any mothafucka talkin slick shit
Chip on my shoulder size of Texas
That's how I learned natural selection
Skippin' class to go learn my lesson
SP12 and MPC weapons
All became my personal obsession

Respect direction
Deck the henchman
Best invention since the next dimension
My venom is a sentiment of sexual tension
I bang out hard when the wenches crept in, the end
This'll be the shit that'll keep em all down lo-pro guessin
Got my knuckles on the table down flexin'
strechin' the words till it fix my reflection

On the verge of a nervous breakthrough
With my crew with a magnum of grey goose

Dodging all the haters and the fake crews
While we take the crown out at paid dues

I'm on Faygo and two shots
With ¡MURSDAY! comin' up to the top

Everybody wanna be the top dawg but ain't drug their knuckles on tabletops

Bang-Bang-Bangin' on these tabletops!

Bangin, we bangin, we bangin, we bangin
Bangin, we bangin, BANGIN' ON THESE TABLETOPS!

I'm a loser and have no friends so that's where this next sentence stems from.

I have read tons of comments on MURS joining Strange and a lot of people not knowing who he is and feeling him and some not feeling him. What I haven't seen, is a lot of comments from people like me.

I have known of Strange ever since Tech 9ne (excuse me if that's wrong) was on the wakeup show when I was listening to him freestyle live and was blown away. I never did get into him too deep because I'm a Living Legends/ProjectBlowed/Heiro head. That's not to say that those things are mutually exclusive, just that as a high school kid, the legends with 8 members, solo albums and side projects, project blowed solos and side projects and so on, it just got too expensive and I just never fit him in.

Anyway, the "people like me" comment comes from the perspective of not seeing too many MURS fans hesitant about this enterprise. As much as I hate to admit it, I am. The couple of songs, or verses I've heard are dope and hard as hell but I'm maybe getting too old to see MURS reinvent himself and explain why he's valid to a whole new grouping of people. That's no disrespect to the newer possible fans, but just the fact that on Strange, I might have to wait another two albums before he gets back to weaving intricate stories, wether they be about his life, the lives of people or experiences we've had that connect us all. I'm not saying that he or anyone can't evolve and that's maybe what's happening here, but I also just wanted to throw that out, letting people know that as unsure as some Strange fans are about this, some Legends fans are too.

All in all, no matter what, I'm going to get the album and hope he converts some Strange fans into him and his vast catalog, as well as maybe converting me and getting me into the equally, though quantitatively more vast catalog of theirs.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents in a $1 and a dream form, now I wait for someone on the Internet to rip it apart.

I'll be honest, I liked that more than I thought I would. Can't wait for the album now.

@purpleNESS1000

Yeah for real. I'm not much of a Murs fan in fact I think he ruined some songs that were good at the beginning but kinda went downhill when he came in. I like this song tho and look forward to see what the album is like

@Menime7184

I wasn't a Murs fan before he joined Strange i'll admit to that, but if you've heard the Strangeulation album every one of his verses on there are sick as fuck, dude has mad talent. I think Tech is just the man to bring out the best in him.

@bryanallen4331

kyle eckols I know where you coming from burning think murs puts a twist in the strange roster. He's different then every one else. He even says in hard "I.don't rap fast imma leave the up to tech n them..... "

@PhazerOnest

listen to Murs 3:16... that whole album and really all his shit with 9th wonder is damn good hip hop.

@MannyRivera

I wont be happy intill strange music blows up, everybody at strange music is massively underrated.

@rawnorth7882

Now tech doesnt perform for less than 250k u.s

@Dankman9

Tech is huge and his pay ain't underrated.

@Dankman9

@@beautiful-rain55 I said his pay isn't underrated. Last I checked he was the highest paid independent rapper.

@Dankman9

@@beautiful-rain55 Tech is worth 2 to three times what Tyga is and comparing him to Drake is ridiculous. I'm not a Drake fan but he's sold a lot more music than Tech has, he has all sorts of billboard chart records, has more singles sales than any artist in history, etc.
Tech is doing pretty good for himself, sure there are overpaid commercial rappers, but pay is based on sales, not any individuals opinion of their rap skills.
