Born in Borrisokane, County Tipperary, Áine's large musical family encouraged her to pursue a number of different instruments during her youth (which explains her obvious skill at arranging). They played together as a family and attended fleadhs (traditional music festivals). But it was at the age of twelve while at boarding school in County Galway that Áine discovered her true love - the harp - which she decided to pursue in lieu of the others.
After completing school she spent three years developing her talent as a harpist at Bunratty Castle, County Clare - the perfect setting to emphasize the harp's lyrical connection to Irish history.
Like so many Irish before her, Áine moved to the United States and settled in New England and continues to concentrate on the traditional music of her homeland, both as a soloist and collaborator. Áine takes the ancient art form, extensively explores its underpinnings but adds her own creativity to each piece.
Áine's harp has entertained former Irish Presidents and Prime Ministers. She is a regular performer at folk festivals and concerts throughout the country.
Across The Universe

Endless rain into a paper cup
They slither wildly as they slip away across the universe.
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
Are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me.
Jai Guru Deva. Om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light, which
Dance before me like a million eyes,
They call me on and on across the universe.
Thoughts meander like a
Restless wind inside a letter box
They tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe.
Jai Guru Deva. Om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter, shades of life
Are ringing through my opened ears
Inciting and inviting me.
Limitless undying love, which
Shines around me like a million suns,
It calls me on and on across the universe
Jai Guru Deva.
Jai Guru Deva.
Jai Guru Deva.
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
The lyrics of Aine Minogue's "Across the Universe" describe a journey of inner exploration and self-discovery. The first verse paints a vivid picture of the endless flow of thoughts and emotions "slithering" and "slipping" away across the universe. The singer's mind is open and receptive to the "pools of sorrow" and "waves of joy" that drift through it, possessing and caressing them. The repetitive refrain of "Nothing's gonna change my world" reinforces the idea that the flow of thoughts and emotions is constant and unchanging.
The second verse introduces the image of "broken light" dancing before the singer like a million eyes, calling her on and on across the universe. The thoughts within her continue to meander restlessly like a "wind inside a letter box," tumbling blindly as they make their way across the universe. The repeated line, "Nothing's gonna change my world," reminds the listener that the journey of self-discovery remains constant, despite the myriad of thoughts and emotions that come and go.
The final verse brings the singer's focus to the sounds of laughter and the shades of life ringing through her "opened ears." The undying love surrounding her "like a million suns" calls her on and on across the universe, with the refrain now changed to "Jai Guru Deva." This is a Sanskrit phrase that translates to "Hail to the divine teacher within," reinforcing the theme of inner exploration and discovery.
Overall, the lyrics of "Across the Universe" beautifully capture the journey of self-discovery, with the flow of thoughts and emotions guiding the singer across the universe towards a deeper understanding of herself.
