Änglagård split up in 1994. They played some reunion concerts in 2002 and 2003, but no new releases.
In 2009 Mattias Olsson confirmed that the band had been recording new material on his MySpace blog, though no release date or title for the new material was announced.
In 2010 Johan Brand annouced that the band has been working over the third album since 2008 on the official Facebook page and that the songs are set to be recorded.
The band's third album, Viljans öga, was released on July 31, 2012.

The lyrics of Änglagård's song "Kung Bore" provide a message about the illusionary nature of life and the importance of being able to discern truth from fiction. The song begins with the singer observing shadows of sorrow that stem from dreams long forgotten in a life that has had its time. The singer acknowledges that it is impossible to stand idly by while people flee from reality and truths that are often just fantasies.
The song then shifts the attention to the power of choice and the responsibility that each person has to not blindly accept the stories, lies, and flattery that others may tell. The singer asks if those who speak loudly, strongly, and righteously also plant dead flowers. In other words, they question whether people who are seemingly righteous may actually be deceiving themselves and others by planting falsehoods that lead to dead ends. This then has a consequence on people's belief in God, as it's challenging to believe in a great God when silence fills the house where one lives.
The song concludes with the announcement that "Kung Bore" is dead and the new king is a hero of the people who has been democratically chosen. It then talks about the importance of populating one's air castles with visions and illusions of life's panoramic and hallucinatory nature. The song expresses a desire for insight into the land of dreams, which is only achievable when one is free from lies and falsehoods.

Kung means king in swedish. Bore is a name (from borealis). Kung Bore is a personification of winter like "Jack Frost".
