Dazed and Confused
Æë°ØÁÖ·ÉͧLed Zeppelin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Wanted a woman never bargained for you
Lots of people talk and few of them know
Soul of a woman was created below, yeah
You hurt and abused tellin' all of your lies
Run around sweet baby, Lord how they hypnotize
Sweet little baby I don't know where you've been
Every day I work so hard
Bringin' home my hard earned pay
Try to love you baby, but you push me away
Don't know where you're goin'
Only know just where you've been
Sweet little baby, I want you again
Been dazed and confused for so long, it's not true
Wanted a woman, never bargained for you
Take it easy baby, let them say what they will
Will your tongue wag so much when I send you the bill
The lyrics to Led Zeppelin's song "Dazed and Confused" are open to interpretation, but they seem to be about a man who has been searching for love for a long time, and finally found a woman who he thought was the one for him. However, he soon realizes that she is not the person he thought she was, as she lies and manipulates him. The man is frustrated and confused by his feelings for her, as he tries to love her but she keeps pushing him away. Despite all of this, he still wants her and is willing to try again.
The first verse sets the tone for the song, as the man describes being "dazed and confused for so long." He thought he had found the woman he had been looking for, but quickly realizes that he was wrong. The second verse describes the woman's lies and how they have manipulated him. The third verse is more introspective, as the man tries to understand his feelings for her and why he is willing to put up with her behavior. He knows that he loves her, but it's not clear if that is enough.
The final verse is a warning to the woman, as the man tells her to "take it easy" and to be careful what she says, as he will send her the bill for what she has done. It's clear that he is tired of being hurt and is ready to move on from the relationship.
Overall, "Dazed and Confused" is a powerful song that explores the complexities of love and relationships. It's a reminder that sometimes, what we want is not always what we need, and that it's important to be true to ourselves.

The first time I heard it I got chills walking through my old elementary school playground at night. Listening on a ghetto blaster with fellows high as a kite, hell yeah CHILLS.
@johnsrous1616
You are right though, that bass line is so sick. It's just fucking crazy how awesome of a bassist John Paul Jones is and what a compliment to the pounding beat of John Bonham as this piece moves ominously along to its powerful climax. Zep at its worst is light years better than most bands at their best.
@2gwells
Has to be one of if not the most iconic bass lines ever. It's also one of the most simplest. Just shows complexity is not always needed.
